Most of these quotations are in common use, which makes it all the more shocking to learn that we’ve been misquoting and incorrectly attributing them freely, although in all likelihood, we’ve attributed the quotations to someone who was much more interesting than the original author.
The list is long. From the Bible to Al Gore, Gandhi, Shakespeare and of course Captain Kirk and Spock – and many more, we’ve botched them all up at one time or another. On the bright side, it’s entirely likely that no one else noticed either.
