United States executions put us in good company with China, Iran, Iraq and Saudi Arabia. I guess it is because we are the most Christian nation on Earth. Or at least we say we are.
80 year old Tom Greer caught a couple burglars in his home. Andrea Miller and Gus Adams body slammed Greer into a TV breaking his collar bone. He ran to another room got his gun and opened fire. The unarmed couple ran into the ally behind his house with Ms Miller begged him not to shoot her because she was pregnant. He shot her in the back twice as she ran away and died at the scene. Police investigating California man, 80, who said he shot burglar despite pleas of pregnancy.
We had a similar instance here in Dumbutt, Texas some years back where homeowner Joe Horn shot two suspects who burgled his neighbors home. He used a 12 gauge shotgun to kill them both dead. They were unamred and he shot them both n the back from about 12 feet. They were black and Hispanic so there was not even a grand jury indictment. Joe Horn’s support became driven by not only Texas gun enthusiasts but racists as well. Excuse me, as you can see from the picture in the link above, the bald guy with the confederate flag tattoo over the back of his head screaming at a black guy is not racism. We are beyond racism here in Texas. Remember, my neighboring local Santa Fe community center sponsors KKK meetings only EVERY OTHER Thursday night.
This story struck on two levels. First of all is the KIND OF PEOPLE who are all over the comment areas screaming their congratulations. to Tom Greer for shooting an unarmed pregnant women in the back. This is what is the matter with not only gun enthusiasts and Republicans here, but with humanity. That same celebration of violence that seems to be inborn in so many people around the world. And of course a dollar to a donut those cheering Mr Greer are Christians or Muslims.
The second issue is that it is unarmed Gus Adams is the one being charged with capital murder. An accomplice in a felony where a murder occurred. Down here in Dumbutt, Texas we have executed several people who were unarmed and did not even see the murder but were along for the ride so to say. But it was victims rather than the accomplices who were killed.
Something is wrong with the law in this. And in at least one of the Texas cases the actual murderer was not executed because he turned states evidence before the accomplice had a chance to. Executed.
