“It is official, I am a grumpy old man,I now am sure of this, as when I saw a couple having sex in their vehicle in my parking lot a little bit ago instead of just ignoring it I called Chapel Hills [sic] finest on them.” Craig Hicks consumed with parking issues in his apartment complex.
As the media jumps on Craig Hicks for being a murdering atheist, to be fair, from now we should expect all news stories covering murders to be prefixed by the suspect’s religion. There is really no need to define American murder suspects using a gun as being “gun enthusiasts” because that’s a given, they all are, it is why they are in trouble.
“His favorite movie was Falling Down [the 1993 Michael Douglas film about a divorced unemployed engineer who goes on a shooting rampage] which always freaked me out. He watched it incessantly. He thought it was hilarious. He had no compassion at all,” Said Hick’s ex-wife, Cynthia Hurley.
At the scene we have learned from police and neighbors that these senseless murders were committed by a very angry white male who policed his apartment complex with a gun in his belt to intimidate them over parking issues and loud music. Every neighbor questioned said the same thing.
Recently the police searched his residence in the apartment complex to find four handguns in addition to the pistol he had with him, two shotguns, five rifles, an AR-15 assault rifle and enough ammo to take out the entire apartment complex. About average for any American Gun Enthusiast.
Then we have the Facebook page and his inputs from various gun enthusiast websites. There we find his claim to be in the NRA, a picture of the murder weapon he was so proud of and his shopping wish list full of gun accessories and examples of his atheist leanings.
In his atheist writing he most always defends Muslims over Christians and the only meat they have for the HATE CRIME investigation is this one quote which in itself only gives equal ire to McDonalds, Muslims and Christians:
“I think I’ll start blaming McDonalds for my weight problem, Christianity for the Ku Klux Klan, and Islam for terrorism.” Craig Hicks
But there is also this:
“Beyond that though after being in D.C. for a decade and knowing several dozen Muslims for most of that time I can say that they aren’t what most think of them. In fact, I’d prefer them to most Christians as I was never coerced in any way by the Muslims to follow their religion, which I cannot say about many Christians.”
“With all that being said, I don’t see how anyone who calls themselves American can claim that a Mosque shouldn’t be TWO BLOCKS AWAY from what is known as ground zero.”
You now what with the Supreme Court soon to give Gays and Lesbians the right to marry, we brag about how fast we came to our senses in throwing our long held bigotry and intolerance in less than a generation. It is time to do the same with our American gun culture. My God, we can’t let our children out of our sight anymore, we are afraid to go out at night, we are confronted by crazyass nutjobs carrying assault rifles around and even 25 six year olds shot to pieces in a school changes nothing. LONG OVERDUE to get ours American gun culture UNDER CONTROL. More than any other single factor, our violent gun culture defines us to the rest of the world.
