Ann Coulter sent home for Muslim snipe, Canadian universities fear riots

Over 2,000 protesters at the University of Ottowa shouted "Ann Go Home!" and carried signs in a vociferous protest which college officials fear will lead to rioting if the sharp tongued, bony, right wing pundit doesn’t go back to the states and bow out of the other two university speeches she was scheduled to give this week. You may recall that it was the provost of the University of Ottowa who gave Ann Coulter fair and explicit warning ahead of time about the differences in free speech between Canada and in the U.S., requesting that she tone down her usual style. She obviously chose to ignore his advice in her first scheduled speech at the University of Western Ontario, the only one of three that she will be allowed to inflict herself upon In Canada. What she said is considered to be "Targeted speech toward minorities," and is against Canadian law.

Her speech at the U of Ottowa which was to follow the next day has been canceled due to riot fears after she said all Muslims should be on a no fly list and travel by magic carpet. Muslim student Fatima Al-Dhaher challenged Coulter on the remark – and told her she didn’t have a flying carpet."What mode of transportation?" Coulter responded. "Take a camel." Students were vociferous in expressing their disapproval, and turned out in large numbers Tuesday night to protest her remark and scheduled presence on their campus. Today, Coulter claims her remarks were satire. Who’s she trying to kid? Ann Coulter doesn’t use satire, a nasty snarky remark like this jibes perfectly with Coulter’s repeated comments regarding Muslims.
