Compare Ron Paul to all women -- White guys from Texas surely "commit murders, rapes, robberies, muggings and burglaries" at a rate of TWENTY TIMES that of women.
So it's okay to fear the racist Republican Congressman from just south of Houston.

Black men have been responsible for over 85 per cent of the felonies committed against New York City cabbies, as many as 17 of whom are murdered each year. Nationwide, blacks — although only 12 per cent of the population — account for 64 per cent of all violent-crime arrests and 71 per cent of all robbery arrests.
It is also true that men on average are more likely to commit violent crimes than women, but it isn't 20 times as high. The differential between the male and female propensities for violence is actually about the same as that between blacks and whites.

So? That was his opinion. When it comes to the Iraq War, blacks are far more likely to have a sensible opinion (IMHO) than whites are. On this issue, Dr. Paul's opinion is much closer to that held by most blacks than Obama's is.

An empirical claim. I don't think it's that high, but I don't have the numbers at my fingertips. I bet it's actually much closer to 35%.

PS - Young black males do in fact tend to be more "fleet-footed" than the average person.

The NCVS tells us that between 2001 and 2003, there were an estimated 1.8 million robberies, for example, of which 1.1 million were reported to the police. The UCR tell us that in the same period police made 229,000 arrests for robbery.
55 percent of offenders in all robberies were black, 55.4 percent of robbers in robberies reported to police were black, and 54.1 percent of arrested robbers were black.
Do you think that the data support the notion that the criminal justice system unfairly target blacks?
