No news yet on Pasadena, Texas Joe Horn, we are about two months late with the Grand Jury. This is partly due to conservative Republican Harris County District Attorney Chuck Rosenthall being tossed out for sex, racism, and suppression of evidence. And is in the process of being replaced by a different set of racist conservative Republicans.

Recap: After dialing 911 to report an afternoon robbery at his neighbor's home, Joe Horn was told not to get his gun and not to go ouside and that the police were on the way. He got his gun, went outside and as two men ran from him, Joe Horn shot one in the back once and the other in the back twice. From about 10 feet away with a 12gauge shotgun. Unarmed men in the back. The police had arrived and witnessed the double killing from an unmarked car. Joe Horn is white, the men were black, and this is Texas so bets are against an indictment. Texas recently passed the Castle Law which means that if you can lure someone onto your property, you can shoot and kill them. Well if they are Black or Hispanic anyway, or both as in this case.

Update: Last week the Harris County DA's office requested to the Texas Attorney General that the autopsy of one of the men be repressed. A good guess for the why of that would be Horn blew that man's head off. It is also a pretty good bet that instead of doing their job working toward an indictment the DA is working against an indictment.

I happened into a Joe Horn video on Youtube today and scrolled down to read all 839 comments. Considering that Youtube has a younger demographic than the natural world and is not relegated to only Texas, I expected some small degree of reason. Needless to say I was profoundly disappointed. Gosh...

So it is not just middle aged Texas rednecks as I had hoped, but something deep inside the soul of this nation. Related as it is to why we are in two wars, why we have 42 execution chambers, why we want to slap our kids around, and why we must have a big gun and a killer pitbull. Barbarians on the couch.

What I read today goes well beyond hero worship, Joe Horn has now replaced Randy Weaver (racist, sexist, anti-Semite, fundamentalist, sawed off shotgun dealer and dirtball) to become the new improved Demigod of American Dirtballs (DADS).

A generation of conservative politics has created in us not only a do nothing attitude about the causes that drive our underclass violence, but will not even acknowledge any causes exist other than race and ethnicity.
