Texas Abstinence education Tops Nation

More money is spent in Texas on abstinence education than any other state with 52.7% of teens having premarital sex compared to the national average of 47.8%.

I would guess the argument on behalf of the Texas Taliban is that without our tax dollars going to abstinence programs, Texas teens would be having even more sex than they already are. 

I often wonder if there is a relationship between high rates of teen sex down here and there not really being that much to do in Texas other than playing with guns.

How about tax funded gun abstinence programs in schools?  Just a level headed "Just say no to guns!"  But then again anyone saying such a crazyass thing would have to get a gun and a carry permit to survive.
