I got my stimulus check of $600 today. First thing I did was fill up my empty tank. That was $80, my wife and kids complained, so I filled up their empty tanks. That cost me $170 for their three cars. We are all very happy now that we can go where we want now without worry! Which is sure to result in another $250 next week. So I am doing my job to stimulate the much needed stimulation of Exxon/Mobile, OPEC and Ceaser Chavez. Good news is I will have $100 left which I intend to spend all on Beam. Just doing my patriotic job....

Rev. Jeremiah Wright gained much applause and a few standing ovations this morning speaking at the National Press Club to an appreciably Black audience. He served out a few zingers for the supportive crowd which is in Washington for a two day black church symposium. "I served six years in the military. Does that make me patriotic? How many years did Cheney serve?" Said Reverend Very Right "My goddaughter's unit just arrived in Iraq this week while those who call me unpatriotic have used their positions of privilege to avoid military service while sending over 4,000 American boys and girls to die over a lie." Said Reverend Very Right
A few video clips of the speech... But his central theme was that it is not he who is being vilified by the media, but the African American Church. Said Reverend Very Right "The most recent attack on the black church -- it is not an attack on Jeremiah Wright -- it's an attack on the black church, just might mean that the reality of the African-American church will no longer be invisible." NYTs - Wright says criticism is attack on black churchGeraldine Ferraro and Bill Clinton have spoken the truth to race concerning the politics of the Democratic Primaries and are also Very Right. Rev Wright has rightly dissed the media, which as Hillary Clinton has learned, no good can come from. All that will come from his recent televised appearances on Bill Moyers, the NAACP and the National Press Club will be on the one hand a further saturation of his divisive video clips by the media, and on the other, complaints that putting himself out front will further saturate the air with his divisive video clips from the media. Speaking of being Right, Adlai Stevenson was right, Hubert Humphrey was right, George McGovern was right, Jimmy Carter was right, Walter Mondale was right, Michael Dukkasis was right, Al Gore was right and so was John Kerry. Looking back further Jesus Christ was right, Gandhi was right, JFK, RFK and MLK were right. Being right mostly gets you a little sticky gold star and a kick in the head...

Stationed in Iraq last year, Specialist Jeremy Hall put out the word that he was having a meeting of fellow atheists. Several soldiers joined him and to their surprise even an officer attended. It turned out that it was no ordinary officer but Maj. Freddy J. Welborn, a crusader for Jesus in this war between the two big religions Of The Book.
The Military Religious Freedom Foundation has taken up Hall's case in federal court with a suit that contends his First Amendment rights have been violated.
“People like you are not holding up the Constitution and are going against what the founding fathers, who were Christians, wanted for America!” Maj. Freddy J. Welborn who went on to threaten Hall and his group with baring their reenlistment and military charges against them. Specialist Hall was sent home early from Iraq because of threats from his fellow troops.
There are many such incidents over the past several years concerning officers proselytizing evangelical Christianity to soldiers who have no choice but to listen. The military believes that a belief in God makes better killers. And who can argue with that? Soldier Sues Army, Saying His Atheism Led to Threats This story takes me back...
In the sixites on my first day in the Army I filled out the "dog tags" form and passed it through a little window in the room. You get two dog tags which you wear around your neck on a chain at all times. One is for the medical corps to put in their dead-bag and the other to place in your mouth and then give you a smart kick in the chin to embed it into your skull for the corpse corps to later retrieve.
The last line of the form is imprinted with your religion. I put in "N/A". A few minutes later a personable old sergeant sat down on the bench next to me handing me back my form. He asked what religion my parents were? I replied Catholic. He said, "Write Roman Catholic on this form here son."
I argued the point but he was having none of it and leaned into my face to strongly spell it out for me. He told me in training and stateside duty I would be harassed by the NCO's and the Officers and constantly have the crap beat out of me by enlisted men. That if I were to end up in Vietnam, which was very likely, I would be shot by some good old Southern boy within a month. It was the first time I had heard the word "frag". It was a pretty compelling argument for a newbie, so I gave in and wrote "Roman Catholic" on the form. And being no dummy, if anyone wants to know my religion today, it is still Roman Catholic... With the success of the movie Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed, the charismatic conservative intellectual Ben Stein - who wrote and narrated the movie - is already at work on his next project, Existing: Santa Claus Angel of the North.
The central position of Expelled is based upon Dr. Richard Sternberg being expelled from the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History for promoting Intelligent Design. That he lost his job because of atheism, scientific fascism and denying him his 1st Amendment rights of freedom of religion and speech. It so happens that Dr. Steinberg was not an employee of the museum at all, but an unpaid research associate who had completed his three-year term. So to put it kindly, the premise of the movie is based upon an almost bigger pile of crap than Creation Science itself. When asked about his movie being based upon such a profound lie, Stein replied, "Our audience for this movie is not concerned with such small matters, they are concerned with biggest matter of all, God." Asked if his new movie would use the same symbolism and imagery relating Darwinism and Evolution to Hitler, Nazism, Communism, Fascism and the Holocaust Stein said, "We will do our best but right now we are working mostly upon relating these Godless Clausophobes to the Manson Family and the Eskimo Genocide. You know, what Liberalism accomplishes." When questioned about any problems proving the existence of a 500 year old obese man living with elves at the North Pole, with a flying sled pulled by reindeer with light up noses and the ability to visit every home in the world in one 14 hour period, Stein smugly replied, "Excuse me, our polls show 100% of 2nd, 3rd and 4th Graders understand the reality of Santa Claus, and 100% of their parents tell them he is real. And let me tell you pal, you can't go wrong with 100% in the polls!" Intelligent Design For Dummies

After the 1988 primaries Jesse Jackson initiated the rules fight within the Democratic Party. At that time it was much like the Republican primary rules today, with many states, most of the big ones as winner take all the delegates, or winner take all regards to each congressional district within a state. Jackson won the fight and now it is all proportional in the Democratic Party. The old way - and the present GOP way - was structured to the Electoral College system of the general election where states decide the outcome rather than individuals. This hit home like a Florida hurricane in 2000 when Al Gore beat George W. Bush in votes, but sadly for everyone in the world - with the help of the five conservatives on the Supreme Court - Bush became President no matter. Had the old rules been in place this year, Hillary Clinton would have wrapped up this nomination months ago. My argument for Hillary is not about policy or disliking Mr. Obama, it is based mostly upon my personal Texas belief that a Black man cannot win the Presidency in America. My God, do you realize he fathered Black babies! I also lean toward Hillary because not only does she have far more political experience, but has her feet firmly planted on the ground. Unlike many of my fellow Democrats I bare no animosity or spiritual falderall in this matter, they are both wonderful people and I will happily take either one. Other than the sad question of racism, another important factor keeps at me. Remove all Obama's delegates from the states (mostly in the South because of African American turnout) that will go Republican no matter Charlie Manson were the candidate, and Hillary is far ahead. Yes, I know, Geraldine Ferraro got her ass fired for saying much the same thing, but I don't have to worry, I was fired long ago.

This photo of the FLDS mothers from the Yearning for Zion cult in El Dorado, Texas brings to mind a couple things. First is that it is little wonder these women have to share husbands. And secondly, why aren't they in jail waiting bond hearings for felony conspiracy in the sexual abuse of a child?
In 1953 a FLDS compound in Colorado City, Ariz was raided and 260 children were removed for the same reasons we are seeing today. The backlash from Arizona Christians was so intense that then Gov. Howard Pyle lost his bid for a third term because of the raid. For the past 50 years, until FLDS cult leader Warren Jeffs was indicted for child rape in 2006, Americans have looked the other way, after all, these men - with the help of their many wives - who sexually abused 12, 13, 14 and 15 year old girls are Christians, so its okay. Beyond the FLDS chapters breaking felony statutes regarding polygamy and child sexual abuse, they are also White Supremacists, and as their name suggests, wetting their pants to see everyone in the world eliminated by God, this afternoon if not sooner. In fact their is special stitching holding the women's frontier outfits together which are prayers for the end of the world. But back to the law, FLDS businesses with multi-million dollar defense contracts are using the women as unpaid slave labor. But they are Christians so its okay. Down here in Dumbutt, Texas there is no regulation or credidation of private schools or home schooling. The FLDS children are taught only to read, write and indoctrinated with so much fundamentalist religous crap they don't even know it's wrong for 60 year old mean to be having sex with mulitple 13 year olds.
These kindly mothers we see on tv not only promote and encourage their underage daughters to join harems for old men, but they also help the old men throw their sons out of the sect so there are more little girls to spread around between them. Records (the DNA test results are a month off) show that some of the girls gave birth at the age of 13, meaning they were possibly having sex with old men at the age of 12. These mothers see nothing wrong with any of this. Why they are pictured in pioneer garb rather than shackled in orange jumpsuits - just as any other mother would be under the same circumstances - reflects poorly on our religious soaked society. Enter Rozita Swinton who was arrested in Colorado Springs Wednesday for suspicion of fraud in pretending to be the 15 year old girl who made the call to the hotline that initiated the raid in El Dorado. Swinton is charged with making a similar call in Colorado Springs two months ago.
"If you rescue me, and I get out of here, do you think the black people will hurt me?" Swinton said in an unrelated call to the Yearning for Zion cult. Though not one of the many cult detractors who have escaped, she is quite knowledgeable in the cult and took it upon herself to blow the whistle. Possibly more driven by the racism than the sex of it. Without Rozita Swinton these child abusers would have got away with this for another 50 years. So while the mothers who help, and the husbands who pork the little girls are all free while they whine, whimper, snivel and gain the sympathy of the people of Dumbutt, Texas, the woman who blew the whistle is in jail. Get Rozita Swinton out of jail and to the rose garden at the White House for a medal pinning ceremony. This afternoon if not sooner. I must give the cult a couple things. The women have been very successful in accomplishing what FLDS expert John Llewellyn recently said, "[they dress] so that they're unattractive to the outside world and other men." Old John sure got that right. Also, though they are little different than the Taliban we are at war with in Afghanistan, they do not push their garbage religion on others, and unlike the Branch Dividians they are not violent gun nuts. So give them a break. 25 years in jail for the men and 10 years for the mothers who sold out their sons and daughters for a pile of crap. Update: Rozita Swinton also happens to be a Barack Obama delegate. In the real world that would be good for Obama, but here in LA LA Land I don't know...

In Athens,Tennessee like anywhere else tempers can flare when the high price of gas meets a major inconvenience, and is further fueled by alcohol.
Police are holding David A. Lundsford of Sweetwater and Roger Gifford of Athens pending a court appearance Friday.
The two friends were walking north on Congress Parkway to get gas for their car which had run out.Lundsford said that after they reached the pump, they began to argue over who should pay for it.
Rather than utilizing something like the traditional "Rock, paper, scissors" to help decide, they argued and fought. Both ended up in jail with Lundsford sustaining minor stab wounds to the abdomen, inflicted with a pocket knife early Wednesday. Seppuku has been ruled out. A witness observed Lundsford punching Gifford. Both are charged with public intoxication. I still blame gas prices. Argument over paying for gas leadsto arrests
