The new face of the GOP! The Republican Party which is about 99.3% white, elected an African American to run the party. Moderate Michael Steele beat out the 5 more conservative contenders. I have been hearing for most of a year that the song Barack the Magic Negro is not offensive. Is Mike the Magic Negro offensive? Picking an African Americans who represent .7% of the GOP is magical indeed!

Steele who was elected Lt Governor in Maryland is said to be a Moderate Republican. Moderate meaning deregulation of our financial system, tax breaks for the wealthy, preemptive war, torture, denial of due process and habeas corpus, listening to our phone calls and reading our emails... You know, moderate Republican. From what I gather all Republicans who are not named Ann Coulter are moderates.

So who will prevail?  The Rush Limbaugh and Sarah Palin Right-wing ideologues? Or will it be the Arlen Spector and Michael Steele pragmatists? Will the GOP be reduced to the old Confederacy (and Idaho) or will it reinvent itself into something reasonable?

So, we are going to move our war from Iraq to Afghanistan. Where live the poorest, least educated, stone age religious fundamentalist drug dealers in the world. Sounds like a plan!

So, do we acknowledge that relativity thing?  Let's go over what the Soviet Union did there.

Like we did in Vietnam - though on their border rather than halfway across the world - the Russians tried to bring Afghanistan into the 20th Century. They went to war with what was then called the mujahideen. The mujahideen were the Taliban of the day. They were led by Osama Bin Laden who we befriended, funded and armed. The Russians fought for 10 years but finally give up after we gave Osama bin Laden and the mujahideen surface to air missiles. We did so because it was fair and good. Those missiles caused so much loss of Russian personal and helicopters that the Russians had to quit and go home. That resulted in internal war for years, the ascendency of the Taliban, al Queda, and our friend Osama bin Laden killing 3000 Americans on 911. The Russians failed like all invaders in the past have failed.

So, does this mean that if Iran befriends, funds and arms the Taliban, and gives them surface to air missiles to shoot down our aircraft that... It is fair and good? 

Or when it comes to foreign policy are our double standards so absurd that we really are The United Buffoons of America? Taking the high moral ground of preemptive war, torture, denial of habeas corpus, due process and double standards going beyond the pale.

I don't know what about these things reminded me of the Hale Bop group at all, but I admit when the camera panned down I fully expected to see the trademark Nikes the group had all worn for their space adventure. This is a real garment, I've seen several TV ads, and a couple of print ads...else I wouldn't believe it. Then again, maybe the Swiss government could purchase a case of them for errant hikers from Germany!

Like a sudden onslaught of sparrows to Capistrano, nude hikers seem to have 'discovered' Switzerland.The phenomenon became apparent last summer. Most of the hikers are German, and drawn to Appenzell Innerrhoden. I'd say if you can pronounce it, you can stroll there any way you please.

Swiss authorities do not share either my opinion or the German fondness for obtaining a oneness with nature with no pesky clothing. Who knew? "FKK", or "free body culture", is a popular pastime in Germany. The Swiss would prefer if they kept it - all in Germany, unless they're clothed. Frustration set in when a brazen hiker was stopped last autumn, but could not be fined or detained as there was no naked rambling law. Glenn Beck:is so confused! Last year railed at Dems for not passing clean coal legislation Yesterday reamed Obama for including "Carbon Capture Redemonstration Project." in the Stim pkg, and felt justified in all of the NO votes.(Pssssst.... He didn't realize it was the same thing as clean coal.)

President Obama has made two very big mistakes so far.  Both relating to the reason I had HILLARY 2008 bumper stickers on my car. Mrs. Clinton may be a lot of things, but politically naive is not one of them. She understands the nature of the Beast.

1) President Obama actually believes he can reason with conservatives to get non partisan action. The absurdity of that makes me wonder not what country he came from but what planet. I have some advice for the President. Treat Republicans just as fairly as they treated Democrats over the past 28 years.

2) President Obama took a shot at Rush Limbaugh by name! MY GOD! What was he thinking? He just does not seem to understand what he is up against with these people. 

Or is he so smart that in just one week he has driven that dying elephant over the cliff to oblivion?

This is hilarious. The liberal side of things on Fox News Sean Hannity Show is now represented by voices of Black men screaming obscenities at poor Sean!
The truth is that the call-in hate from the Right to the Left is not about name calling, but about baseball bats, bodies full of holes, ripping heads off and shitting in necks, knowing where you live and where your children go to school. They didn't call liberal talk show host Allan Berg a c**sucker, they drove to his house and filled him full of lead while he walked his dog.
