Senator Hutchinson wants to come home. It's hard work up there in Washington concerned with so many weighty matters and much better to lay around Austin in a new mansion doing little other than talkin' tough. Which is what we Texans want not only in our governors but in our representatives - who meet only a few months every other year - as well. Hey, things we decided 100 years ago are just fine for us down here in Dumbutt.

The Republican Party is split between two factions since their back to back shellacking in the elections of 2006 and 2008. Though both groups are unified against health care reform, advocates of deregulation of banks and Wall Street, reducing taxes on the wealthy, denying women a choice, more war, more lethal injections, more prisons, longer sentences and of course one hellova lot more guns in churches, stadiums and bars! Believe it or not!

The split in the GOP is more about the intensity of the hatred directed at Liberals, Progressives, Democrats, Mexicans, African Americans, Barack Obama and above all, the American Government.

Though more than a year away the race for governor is heating up with word arriving that Dick Cheney will be in Houston on November 17 to endorse Senator Kay Bailey Hutchinson. Carl Rove is also expected to be on hand at the venue.

"I am so pleased. I respect the former vice president so much. We've worked together. He knows my record as a conservative in the Senate." Beamed Senator Hutchinson.

So there you have the moderate wing of the GOP led by the Dick Cheney faction. A snarling draft dodging chickenhawk who not only advocates more and bigger wars in more places, but torture as well. How could anyone from Texas not like that I ask you? Hard to beat.

But the other side of the GOP is no slouch! There we have friend of Glenn Beck Governor Rick Perry who supports the Tea Parties, calls for Texas succession from the Union, and who Sarah Palin has already endorsed and is on her short list as a running mate in 2012. The evangelical, armed wingnut airhead faction of the GOP.

It's a hard decision for us here down in Texas. More killing home and abroad or just sit back and be stupid? Tough call.

One thing is absolutely sure though. No matter Perry or Hutchinson, if there is an OPT OUT option for states in this health care bill, Texas will opt out before its even signed! If we can't actually shoot THEM, we sure as hell are not going to let them tell us we can't just let THEM cease living in line outside a hospital. This is Texas after all.

Apparently even the Christian Broadcasting Network knows this story of demons entering the unwary via Halloween candy, or sex with a demon is batshit crazy, they removed the warning from their website today. The chick of the war hawk is peeping. She still has a loose relationship with the truth, but right wing media gobbles up her accusations and distributes them as if she were someone important or factual. While President Obama can expect to be criticized for everything he does by grumpy Republicans, it's a shame that Liz Cheney must use falsehoods, and stoop so low as to blast him for attending the somber ceremony at Dover Air Base for the arriving fallen from Afghanistan. The President was merely honoring them in much the same way that many other leaders do...personally, the better to make a sound decision about the course of this war her daddy was so instrumental in starting and bequeathing to him.

We do learn some interesting things about daddy Dick Cheney, present and past. For someone keen to send Americans to war, he did everything - finally resorting to starting little Liz as a bun in the oven, as his fifth and most successful draft deferment. Perhaps he can add most deferments issued to his list of accomplishments.

Oh yes, and those who believe that he and George Bush secretly attended the same ceremony - minus cameras, which sounds very honorable, I'm sorry. You must check your facts - no matter what you wish to believe, the next time Liz Cheney tells you a story. You can't ask dead eye Dick, he couldn't possibly remember any of that business. To prove their point that Fox News is fair and balanced and should be treated as any other news source:

They have compared the War on Fox to the Civil War and the War on Terrorism.

They have compared themselves to Radio Free Europe and Barack Obama to Joe Stalin.

They have compared elementary school children singing a song about successful Black men - including Barack Obama - North Korean indoctrination.

There is no better video explaining how the few hours of actual News a day at Fox News works. News to the Fox News people turns out to be what their cadre of opinion pundits have to say about the news!

This so called War on Fox is not only long overdue but more than welcome.

It brings to the forefront the extreme unfairness, unbalanced Republican propaganda, the dishonesty and above all the hateful rhetoric this silly news channel is TO THE 95% OF AMERICAN VOTERS WHO ARE NOT ON THEIR MAILING LIST! While it also better defines all those traits to the KIND OF PEOPLE who vote Republican.

Businessman Andy McKenna wants the position of Illinois State Governor so badly that he's made this ridiculous commercial. The theme seems to meld Blaggo's hair and the misdeeds he committed while in office. Does this mean abundant, floppy hair is equal to misconduct? McKenna implies as much, as he has merged the two perfectly in his splashy first campaign ad about The Cult of the Hair. If you've ever wished to see what it would look like if everyone in Illinois had Blaggo hair..or not, here's your chance. Oh, and a high five to the agency that sold this idea! Apparently it's customary for political speakers at events to rally the faithful for the first caucus to think of Iowa as a place to secure votes, not cash. In fact, some say the scramble by the Iowa Family Center's newly formed "Team Sarah" to scratch up her (now) regular speaking price of $100,000 is not only odd but unheard-of. She is busy that week, with the launch of the book attributed to her, but it sounds as if she'll be able to squeeze Iowa in if they tempt her with enough green to make it worth her while. We have come a long way from Reaganomics with Fox News now declaring that 55% of Americans are Left Wing Radicals!

Jon Stewart also reminds us that the Public Option is already the moderate compromise to the Left Wing desire for a Single Payer system.

There seems to be 4 issues at work that keep moderates in congress from endorsing a public option.

1) Taking big money from big insurance companies (Max Baucus).

2) Radical Republican ideology of unregulated free markets and that taxes / government is all bad unless it supports war, prisons, executions and getting more guns out on the streets. (The Republican Party)

3) Being a snot nosed little hypocritical turncoat creepy crawler (Joe Lieberman)

4) Politicians who fear they will lose the next election because their constituents find a public option worse than Hitler! (Mary Landriau)

The largest factor seems to be #4, whether it's a Democrat worried about a Republican taking their place or a Republican worried about a more conservative candidate in their primaries.

So why do these politicians constituents - who are middle and lower class voters - so despise a public option?

These KIND OF CONSTITUENTS will have to pay taxes to support a Public Option in some way. And WHAT KIND OF PEOPLE do they perceive as those opting for that Public Option?  Duh...
