Republicans Blame Workers for our Troubles, David Horsey

autohorsey

Don't you wish the Republicans had succeeded with putting half of everyone's Social Security into the Stock Market?

What good ideas Republicans have! And that idea was not from the Hillbilly faction of the GOP, but came from the smart part of the Party.

Watching FOX NEWS SUNDAY just now the word from the Republican House Minority Leader Big Boner it the answer to all our woes is to lower personal taxes, corporate taxes and capital gains taxes on the wealthy. Which is the same plan that got us into this suicidal mess in the first place. That plan is again, not from the dominate Hillbilly faction of the Party, but from the few smart people left in the Party.  Makes one wonder where the GOP is headed.

I think all they have going for them is more guns and less Mexicans. The Gay Marriage thing may look good at the moment but within a few years that mindless bigotry will pass by graveyard attrition. So get a gun and guard the border!

Usually I wouldn't even bother commenting on blog posts, but this one is blatantly misinformed I almost fell out of my chair reading it. First of all, entitlement spending will begin bankrupting our country within 16 years (when it starts eating 44% of our GDP). I know this may be a shocking idea for you to consider, but perhaps people should show some fiscal sense and save for their retirement instead of expecting the government to pay for it. Privatizing social security is necessary. Perhaps the Republican way of doing it wasn't the best, but it's certainly better than the alternative you've proposed (nothing).

Secondly, the plan of lowering taxes is not what got us into this mess. It was excess liquidity in the secondary mortgage market created by Fannie & Freddie. Beyond that, you could say that a lack of regulation in the derivatives market was ultimately the issue. To accuse lower taxes of being the core problem here leads me to wonder whether your brain screens your thoughts before excreting them onto the world wide web.

Two things need to happen: lower taxes for both the middle class and the companies employing them, and cut excessive government spending. Two trillions dollar could be saved bringing out troops home from their locations abroad. Gee, that's enough to cover TARP loans and then some. By curbing excessive government spending and giving Americans more money, jump starting the economy might just be possible.

So please, get your head out of your ass and think next time before you regurgitate your stereotyping bullshit onto the internet.

No, I didn't send any money to Ron Paul. But you know, after seeing how both parties have used Congress to bankrupt our nation both fiscally and morally... maybe I should have.

You must be sitting on a keg of gold if you consider the issues mentioned in the cartoon as "entitlements." IOW you've saved enough for your retirement, possible disability - it happens, and your own health care? The last paycheck I received had taken money out for all of those things. Independently wealthy people like yourself could graciously bow out, but I'll bet you'll sign up for that check just like everyone else.

I'd suggest you familiarize yourself with the issues at hand before trying to make a coherent retort. "Entitlement Spending" is a term used by economists and government employees to refer to Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and Veterans Benefits. Beyond that, the rest of your post are unworthy of reply. By the way, what check are you even talking about? Once again, please at least try to make a coherent argument next time.
