Not long ago we were getting all day cable news on the search for a cop killer in Central Florida. Well, they got the guy, they really really got the guy. The news was that he had popped up out of the brush only a few feet away from the swat team, and though he raised one hand, he had the dead officer’s .45 in his other. He was shot and killed on the spot.
Autopsy: SWAT hit man 68 times Houston Chronicle - Lakeland Fla - Officers fired 110 round of ammunition at…
Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said he was not concerned by the number of shots fired. “I suspect the only reason 110 rounds was all that was fired was that’s all the ammunition they had.” He said.
This is what I have come to believe is our most central American problem. In this case it is the profound joy Sheriff Judd found in sharing his profound vengeful violence with us all. From that pleasant quote, I find myself wondering had they 30,000 rounds whether coroners can do autopsies on wet spots.
Related to this sad state of affairs, it presents itself down here in Huntsville. In the shadow of the death chamber on an almost weekly since Cowboy George became Governor, very self professed Christians congregate to promote and delight in the execution of some poor soul. It is neither evolution in our schools, queers getting married, BJs or having enough Taliban in our soup that defiles us, but rather this dark streak of barbarianism which seems to have become embedded in our genetic code. We need more Mexicans to enter our gene pool up here, bus them in, and hurry before this clown in the White House begins WWIII.
It's plain to see that since conservatives took control of all branches of our government, and the election process itself, we have added torture to the lexicon of our floundering reputation. Here seem to be the REAL five Traditional Christian American Family Values: Starting wars, executions, guns, Rottweillers and torture. I buy my gas at CITCO.
I guess once you believe that your neighbor is going to hell anyway, it isn't that big a deal to speed the process up a bit.
for one reason or another. You're bound to be doing something wrong,
or like the game "Seven degrees of Kevin Bacon", aren't far FROM it.
Sorry, but this has set me on a ramble.
With good paying corporate jobs waving to us from foreign shores,
jailing people has become a big business for small towns. Don't believe me,
ask someone who's "been" lately, even if they're not in your usual circle.
If someone like Couric had but ONLY warned us of the dangers of taking away prayer in schools before it was too late. The "right" kind, of course.
Hey! Hold ON a red hot minute here!
I'm pretty darned certain those little Amish kids were praying every day of the week, and at least seven times on Sunday!
Same with many home-schooled, and the other privately funded church related schools! My little, creative, inquisitive, neice comes home with bruises from their "don't spare the rod philosophy", alas I've nothing to say in the matter. I'm certain they'll beat
that "troublesome" spark out of her before graduation.
A tad OT:
Kids also seem to be scoring lower accademically than WE did,
I thought I'd done my part to help lower THAT bar long ago..seems not
.
Our spawn are scoring FAR down in the list of accomplishments and grades
compared to a startling number of other "less democratic" and "God led"
countries than our own. Far too many of 'em can list off the caliber and stats
on a lot of guns though! Bet we beat those wussies in THAT hey?!!
Sorry Katie,
there's gotta be another, bigger answer, and you can't tie it up in a short
news clip from Columbine - Ya Bimbo.
That's not a good thing. It means we're talking about personality just as if we were talking about celebrities.
When I had my first argument on line with a conservative it was over the minimum wage. I'd guess each post was a minimum of 500 words and most topped 1000. I'd read several sources over the course of the day both on and off line then write and rewrite several times As I wrote I tried to follow every assertion with at least three citations. It was hard work. But it was a good thing because it was about policy about things that had a definate provable or testable basis.
In my opinon I won that argument and I think just about every policy debate was won by liberals over conservative. Let's call it the Kangas era of political debate.
Then came the freepers and their ilk. Now debate is purely political and the winner is the one who can say I'm right and your wrong loudest and longest.
makes for good TV though.
work about minimum wage bears fruit and
soon!
