In a 7 to 7 vote the 15 member Texas Board of Education voted to rescind the 20 year long rule that Texas Public School students be taught the "weaknesses of evolution".
This process of forcing religion into science classes began a century ago under the name "creationism". In the 1960' they changed the name to "Creation Science", then later to "Intelligent Design" and most recently into an "Equal Time" issue. All forms have been judged unconstitutional by federal courts, though the majority of people in ignorant throwback states like Kansas, Pennsylvania, Oklahoma and Texas have done their best to insure their children are brought up so stupid their only hope in life is to get jobs offered by the RNC, the GOP and the Bush Administration.
Though the vote was 7 to 7 with another vote coming in a few days, the missing vote is a Democrat who is expected to vote with smart people.
One must keep in mind that very dumb people are very popular down here in Dumbutt, Texas. After all they are all someone's mother or uncle or grandma. And like Oklahoma, they are a very well armed majority. So if you do choose to make fun of them it is advised to use big words like don't understand like obtuse, thick, imprudent and injudicious.
The Gang of Seven here is led by these two right-wing evangelical ideologues pictured above, Cynthia Dunbar and Don McLeroy.
Remember those who deny evolution no matter what the wording - also deny biology, physics, chemistry, paleontology, anthropology, geology, reason, logic, rational thought and common sense.
This also bodes poorly for our Texas Taliban in the upcoming selection of textbooks which is also decided every 10 years. As goes the big money in Texas textbooks, so goes the rest of the obtuse, thick, imprudent and injudicious states.
