In any other world, I would think this was a tongue-in-cheek piece, chock full of irony. I don't know about you, but I'm going to work tirelessly for every (other) Texan's other dream, secession!

There will always be someone that is not educated enough to understand what word "metaphor" means, or what is fiction supposed to be. From his point of view we would have just society like in the book. It is interesting that such people like described in the book are actually trying to ban that book (maybe even burn?).
The point is that those kind of people run Texas... School boards, city counsils, state legislature, and they come out and vote in mass... They are also very very heavily armed.
