Scientology, Tom Cruise and Germany

Tom Cruise is in Germany making a movie about the 1944 failed assassination attempt on Adolph Hitler. The German government refuses to allow Cruise and company to film in the historic building where it happened. They say allowing filming would adversely affect the dignity of the place as the German government considers Scientology a commercial enterprise that takes advantage of vulnerable people.

Am I the only one who sees the absurdity of that? Can anyone tell me why that same reasoning does not apply to Catholicism and every Protestant sect containing the word “evangelical”?

And while we are on this subject, please help me understand why believing the Earth has been visited by aliens is silly cultism while raining bread, parting oceans and raising the dead is reasonable religion? I am stuck, please help.

What you fail to understand is a religion is rated by the number of adherents not its logical content.

I figured you would like Scientologists Bubba, they are very ANTI INTELLECTUAL. Or to put it in terms you can better understand, they don't like smart people. Especially psychologists, psychiatrists, doctors, doctorates, and writers who do not write SciFi books. :)

You must BUY your way into higher levels of Scientology. At least in the other religions, the promise of heaven isn't so quid pro quo.

The only reason someone wouldn't know this is the Scientologist lawyers make it difficult to disseminate truthful, factual information.

I'd sooner take my chances arguing religion with a sword-wielding fundamentalist in person, than put up a fact-filled discussion online (with supporting Scientology documents)

True, you must buy your way into the higher levels, but the Pope's clan is
famous for paid indulgences, and you can pretend you were never married for a fee.
(thus making your offspring bastards?)
Scientology is the only one which beats the Catholics when it comes to pomp and
pageantry. Gold vestments vs shiny space suits, just personal choice I guess?

Actually Rack, the Germans denied the film company access to the fort in which Stauffenberg was executed, not the place where he rang Adolph's chimes. For screwing that up he deserved to be executed.
