Senator Scott Brown, voted down funding Red Cross workers still clearing rubble from 9/11. Why would he do such a thing, and what "priorities at home" were more important?



The a-hem, highly regarded literary magazine Cosmopolitan may have heard of Scott Brown in 1982, I can't say that many have been aware of him as he's pursued a political career. Those who voted for him are as guilty as he.

As a State Rep in October 2001, he voted against a bill funding Red Cross workers at ground zero. This was one of the few times Americans pitched in, regardless of poltical preference, race, or religion. Why would Brown turn down important funding to the Red Cross? The answer may reveal more about this mysterious figure than we'd care to know.

Brown couldn't allocate the money to the Red Cross in good conscience you see. With the ease of a practiced liar, he stated that "We needed to take care of our own priorities first."
