Lewis Black on the Daily Show is angrier than usual about men pretending to be Veterans to scam VA hospitals for free health care. Very righteous and patriotic of Mr. Black but he could have mentioned the way to eliminate the problem, give the health care we give to our veterans to everyone.

I already have health care that's better than what they hand out at VA. No way do I want to settle for having it downgraded to their standards.
I read a letter in Fortune magazine the other day that caught my interest. The author was agreeing that we need some kind of national universal health coverage, but was bemoaning that it might be might be administered by increasing our "already bloated" government, with all its inefficiencies. Duh? Doesn't Fortune screen their letters? Isn't it common knowledge that Medicare/Medicaid and Social Security are between 5 and 8 times as efficient as private insurers when you compare administrative costs? Or is this an example of the delusion, "they can't do that well...they GOVERNMENT!"
