Jon Mathews, one of Houston’s best known local Right-wing radio hosts has proved to be just as personally disgusting as his radio talk. Rack Jite has gone toe to toe on the air with Matthews on not a few occasions. For twenty years he has been the Houston voice for the most extreme Right-wing reactionary crap in Houston, dwelling mostly upon overt racism and a gungoonery putting even the NRA to shame. The star of Houston's 24/7 Right-wing line up on Christian owned KSEV, this Law & Order advocate was recently sentenced to 3 years in prison for breaking his probation from a 2004 conviction of exposing himself to an 11 year old girl.

At the time of his original conviction one could go to the KSEV forums to see his admirers line of defense. Believe it or not, that defense was that the 11 year old girl looked older than she was. She was a neighbor kid who came to his house to pet his dog for crying out loud.
Though his abject bigotry and racism -- and like Rush Limbaugh, his endless name dropping of the mucky mucks he met on the golf courses of Harris County -- it was his singular NRA gungoonery that most defined him. A day seldom passed without his ranting and raving over the Brady Bill or advocating assault weapons for white people. In fact when Texas passed a bill to have all cars pass an emissions test which cost drivers $21.50 every two years, he lead an armed march on Austin to stop it in its tracks. Which here in Dumbass, USA worked.
Matthews, Houston's most notable racist radio host is now on his way to that big black dominated cheap hotel, without his assault rifles! How sad.
How many crooked pols are conservative, how many liberal?
How many perverts, embezzlers, etc., are associated with either left or right-wing views?

Of course you raise an excellent
question. I don't claim to speak for anyone other than myself, but it appears that perverts and ne'r do wells inhabit
both sides, and the grey area in-between.
My attempt at counting noses has been thwarted,as they also tend to fib about it until caught and convicted.
Let us face it. It is just plain GOOD news when a child molester is caught, no matter which side of the political fence he is on.
In this case, the girl was eleven, and he did break parole.
You or I would be given the same treatment under those circumstances.
I fear it is human nature for us to clambor aboard bandwagons which appear to have our very values and interests at heart.
Sadly, we can't see the motives of the leader who proclaims to hold them dear.
Having said that, I must admit that when someone has spent years proclaiming moral superiority - it does lend
a little something extra when that cookie jar lid finally smacks down on his little paw, and he is
exposed...sorry, very bad choice of words. ;)
The public record Texas sex offenders lists are the exception to Earl-Wayne-Lee rule, as those offenses seem to go across broader socioeconomic lines.
Jon Matthews finally went to jail recently for probation violations of testing positive for alcohol and discussing sexual fantasies on the Internet.
But the highest prisoner recidivism rates just might NOT be from the drug/alcohol or sex offender - Matthews may have had a beer in one hand and his pecker in the other when he got caught but it is the Gun Goonery that can't be cured.
He's one of those Texans who won't be holding his little mouse when he keels over ... the coroners will be prying one of those many guns he has talked about, from Jon Matthews cold dead fingers.
And you are very wrong about you or I getting the same treatment. Matthews had been playing golf with the judges and prosecutors here for ages. He was the top Christain and NRA spokesman on the radio for years... His original conviction gained him no jail time, and being wealthy with wealthy friends he had no problem meeting his bond. You or I would be in jail from the start and would not have got probation.
It would be a fools' bet that there will
continue to be much gnashing of teeth and wailing over this conviction as deserved and no doubt overdue as it is.
No doubt the very same people who would
burn a cross in the lawn of another
child molester released from prison, will be protesting and ready to take up collections for him.
When it comes to "right and left", "black and white", "conservative and liberal" it isn't only JUSTICE that is blind.
One has to wonder what has happened to
make a country so divisive that right
and wrong are skewed when the perpetrator is a spokesman for one "side" or the other.
Every judge in Harris county is conservative. Every one. And they look out for their own.

Anyone who would play upon that innocence
deserves to be put away and fed kibble.

The Wednesday Feb 4th ad copy refers to the KSEV talkshow host as having the "Houston's #1 talk show." By the looks of his hair, the Chron.com stock photo is probably older than the child he molested.
