Not a few Republican Congressmen chose to appear in front of a few thousand Michele Bachmann fans on the Capitol steps rather than do their jobs inside the Capital voting on matters of Homeland Security. BTW, some of the fine Tea Baggers these Republican Congressman were addressing now sport signs depicting the Holocaust imprinted with the Obama logo. Nice... 

Responding to some of the Tea Bagger requests to have at him, Representative Barney Frank said:

"Some of the people (at the rally) that wanted to engage me in conversation appeared to have been the losers in the 'Are you smarter than Michele Bachmann contest?'." Rep Barney Frank

It was not that long ago that when Frank was confronted by one Bachmann's storm troopers at a town hall meeting comparing the President to a NAZI, he refused to engage her by saying it was like "arguing with a dinning room table." Friday he compared the Bachmann rally to being trapped inside a furniture store.

I noticed this morning Newscat commented on the similarity between today's Michele Bachmann and Anita Bryant from the olden days. As serendipity would have it, just last night I was working on my Seventies Website and wrote about Bryant's more than 15 minutes of fame in 1977. Beware both my Sixties and Seventies pages are as apolitical as I can manage.

Anita Bryant - the spokesman for Florida Orange Juice at the time - began a campaign against Homosexuals called "The Save Our Children Crusade". Her success in repealing a  gay non discrimination law in Miami, Florida led to her national acclaim. But much to the pain of the Florida Citrus Growers, a backlash occurred with a national boycott of orange juice. Bryant is credited with being the impetus that got Harvey Milk - the first openly gay politician - elected as a San Francisco County Commissioner. The Reverend Jerry Falwell came to her side just as Dr. James Dobson founded Focus on the Family. She is often given credit for beginning what was soon to be called the Moral Majority and later the Religious Right. What is most interesting in the Anita Bryant story is that her fame lasted less than two years and by 1979 her life began a 30 year downward spiral of political, professional and personal failure. More on Anita Bryant at Wiki

Take note Ms Bachmann! The people of Minnesota threw out Jesse Ventura for being far less of a nutcake.

BTW, Ventura's demise was from a quote even I knew would be the end of him as Governor of Norway. "Religion is for the weak and stupid."  No no no Jesse, "Religion is for the weak OR stupid"

I must say I was surprised by the quick conviction of this child raping dirtball down here especially dumbutt West Texas. Also noteworthy is the surname "Jessop" that so many of the FLDS adherents are named makes one wonder if they are all related, adding incest to this ugly package of religious insanity.  

What I found most interesting in this case - the first of 12 such cases coming up - was that the 15 year old girl Ray was screwing (one of his nine spiritual wives) was given to him after his brother was done screwing her the year before when she was 14.

Of course unlike Roman Polanski these creepy crawlers used a WHOLE JESUS rather than HALF A QUAALUDE to have their way with these little girls. Bring unto me the little children...

OMG! Jon Stewart nailed it. This rendition of Glenn Beck is the funniest damn thing I ever did see! Not only does Stewart nail the crazy politics, the convoluted logic, the Rube Goldberg chalkboard, the tears, the ticks and the goofy mannerisms, but it is so on the mark that we find ourselves concluding that Howard Beale seems stable compared to Glenn Beck. I am sure the writers and actors over at SNL are kicking themselves in the ass for missing this one.

A bad medical year for Mr. Beck it seems. After suffering a life threatening botched hemorrhoid operation a year ago - by the best health care system in the world - Beck is now again in surgery with a suspicious appendix. One can only wonder what President Obama had to do with this. And wonder if Hitler lives in his spleen?

Is that music from VOTE AGAINST GAY MARRIAGE ad from The Exorcist? No matter, the gist of it cannot be missed seeing them side by side. Promoting Gay Marriage a bright sun shiny day with smiling people and kind words. On the side against gay marriage fear, darkness, hatred and intolerance. A reflection of the differences between the Political Parties today... Hmmm... And yesterday.... And tomorrow. 


Over the years this issue has time and again caused me to ask:

What has gay marriage to do with taking the skin off of anyones' nose?

How could anyone possibly want to deny the same rights and privleges to gay couples they enjoy themselves?

How is it even possible that anyone would want to deny stable relationships between people who love one another?

And more topically in these days of Tea Party madness how can these same people who tout The Constitution as being abused because they don't want to pay taxes so completely ignor it and the 14th Amendment on this issue?  Are they nuts?

Over the years I too have come to the same conclusion as Jon Stewart. Just as some people are born gay, others are born intolerant. Which makes the answer to this simple. Conservatives should not be allowed to reproduce. We need to keep them from marrying EACH OTHER, the spawn of which helps populate this Hillbilly Nation of ours.  Please contact your congressman in support of the The Defense of Tolerance Act. 

I also accept the secondary theory on this that all will end well as this is really about very old people who will be leaving the voting booths soon by natural attrition.

Some strange goings on with voters out East! Working down from top to bottom:

In Maine they rejected Gay Marriage in favor of the expanding marijuana use.  Gays may not be able to get married but they can fire up their bongs and sing sad songs instead. Not a bad trade off if you ask most married guys...

In the 23rd District of New York up there in the land of Yankee hollers, Walmarts and rusty trailer jacks a Democrat won for the first time in 160 years? Since the Civil War? How could that be?  Two words, "Sarah" and "Palin". It seems Yankee Hillbillies are a bit smarter than their Southern brethren. Though having a candidate who was a doppelganger for Mayberry's Barney Fife didn't help. In fact I am sure no one would give Doug Hoffman even that one bullet Barney was allowed to carry in his shirt pocket. This one was the true bell weather for 2012.   

In New York City, Republican Mayor Michael Bloomberg spent more money ever spent on any election other than for President of the United States - $100 million - and squeaked by with a 51% win over... Gee, I don't know who and either do you!

In New Jersey John Corzine - with the help of President Obama - could not pull it out from that fat guy, old what's his name. Corzine had recently quit the Senate for the more cushy job of New Jersey Governor. That seems now to be a bad move which we have going on down here in Beckian, Texas where Kay Baily Hutchinson is making the same mistake. Though this is a big win for the down trodden GOP for it proves that the President has been destroyed and the big turnaround for the Republicans is just around the corner. But one must consider that New Jersey ranks only behind Mordor and Gedi Prime on the Don't Fly List.

Then down to the home of the Confederacy, Virginia! Where the well dressed, nice haired, good looking conservative Republican beat the pants off the guy who was not Terry McAlliffe. This too was a really was a big win for the GOP as it does portend well for them gaining back a few congressional seats and governorships in 2010. But again it does nothing about the sorry state of affairs the Republican Party is suffering in GOING ROGUE.

Local television has covered this but no videos are available online. But what we see down here are people are too fat to stand up for very long who  bring their own lawn chairs and wave signs that mostly have Obama logos or hi face on them. I admit there are some some standing who were not all that fat and a few more who did seem to be in their 40s. But there seemed to be not one Black, Hispanic or anyone young enough to be text messaging. Well other  than a few kids running around whose parents dressed them up in American flag outfits.

People do not like hearing this, but it is the truth. This movement is  ALL about not wanting to pay taxes that benefit people less white then they are. It is also entirely what drives the health care debate and why we are the only place on Earth who do not consider health care a human right.  

This Tea Party was organized by local right-wing radio host Pags Pagliarulo around the central theme that we must refuse illegal immigrants health care as it is making us all go broke and is unconstitutional.

One silly part of this Tea Party business is akin to the silliness of Fox News claiming to be fair and balanced. The Tea Party talking point is that they represent all people, from all political parties. This of course is readily accepted by unbalances people.

But I am mostly concerned with what these KIND OF PEOPLE plan to do if an illegal immigrant gets run over by a truck? If they look Mexican do we just leave them in the road and rubber neck? Does someone stop and rifle the body for a green card? Do these Republican good Samaritans stop and drag them off to the side of the road so they can die pleasantly in the gravel? Perhaps a requirement that all Republicans carry shovels, white crosses and plastic flowers in their vehicles so we can just bury them on the spot? Remember, THESE KIND OF PEOPLE are armed, they vote and are very very proud of what they represent. And I am sure they will be well represented in Hell.
