Samantha Bee revisits the New York Primary, where Hillary won the most votes, and Bernie Sanders realized that super delegates may be his only hope to stop his campaign from face-planting in front of the entire electorate.
To recap, according to Sam super delegates are a plot hatched by Hillary and Bill in 1982, to steal an election 34 years later. History –the more you know! Anything is possible when you’re ‘The Devil,’ as some Sanders folk say of Hillary – and worse. The hostility is why Sam is pleading with Bernie supporters to dial emotion down a notch to ‘mere loathing’ which is in the middle position of the tolerance meter; respectful disagreement, passive aggressive scolding, witchy dog-whistle, MILD LOATHING, checked rage, unchecked rage and berserker blood-lust. Sam is also thinking of the ultimate good of the party, and in this case humanity at large.
It is unfair to single Sanders supporters out. If you think I speak with forked tongue, hold on and watch the unsettling footage of Hillary’s supporters, a lovely group of gals called the PUMAS. They’re shown in ’08, reacting to Obama’s delegate lead – just hold onto something! It’s amazing to watch the footage, and realize that the candidates and perhaps the people have come together since that time, to work together. Hillary’s calm measured words to Democrats ring true;
“There is much more that unites us than divides us.” It is too easy to forget Hillary’s reassuring words in an election year, when what unites us – may cause us to yank one another’s hair out!
