Let me add to that. Terrorism took over the domestic politics and foreign policy of The United States exactly 13 years ago. Just as Osama bin Laden intended. George W Bush and the American people played right into his hand.
In that 13 years we have lost about 3000 Americans to terrorists not only here but the world over. In that same amount of time we have lost 140,000 Americans to American gun enthusiasts.
We should be 40 TIMES more afraid of fellow Americans with guns than all the terrorists in the world put together. And what do we do about that? We sell, promote, distribute and celebrate not only guns, but assault rifles with standard 40 round clips. The United States of Duh.
And you know if we were to start in 1981 – when some turkey declared the United States government as our number one enemy – which lingers as the top political issue even today, that would be about 500,000 dead Americans shot by American gun enthusiasts, or about 150 TIMES more dangerous than terrorists.
