Of course Bill Maher is right about this as are both Rand Paul and Bernie Sanders, the problem is that with the march of technology it cannot be stopped, the cat is already out of the bag.
Unless of course we tell our children to never use a phone or go online, Comcast, Verizon, Amazon, Google, insurance companies, the banks, the government and the Koch Brothers are going to know everything they want to know about us. In fact they already do. Sure it is good to pass laws to try and protect us, but it’s just feel good stuff.
Anyone who goes online sees it all the time in those Google Adsense ads that so dominate the internet. You buy a dildo from Amazon and all you see is dildo ads for a month. Hey, don’t they know we just bought a dildo? I don’t need another one. Oh I see, we may want a different color one, or a size up or ship to friends. We are a dildo person. Or what if you typed “viagra” somewhere a decade ago. Dollar to a doughnut you are still getting a daily dose of email about that.
