Bill Maher on Dr Drew, denying racism is the new racism

American racism is so deeply ingrained in our history and culture that white people are either unable – or just flat out refuse – to see it. It is written into our constitution, it was the cause of our greatest war, it gave us apartheid lasting 100 years longer than it did in South Africa. And today it, along with religion is the driving force of American politics.

Some racism, if witty enough can make it to the media. Recently that was the case with Republican "RE-NIG 2012" bumper sticker which got media play. But the big Kahuna, the talk of the week, the biggest policy issue in America for the past 30 years is Republicans flat out refusing to follow the rest of the civilized world with universal health care of any sort. Which can be summed up in the NOT SO WITTY sound bite.  "Obamacare" is just the nice way of saying "N****rcare".  It is also the main reason the GOP discarded welfare for mothers and children in 1995, are trying to end medicaid, food stamps, and pushing for voucher education.

So why Mr Republican do 95% of African Americans reject your party?  Why do you think that is?  The 95% Republican answer to that face to face is… "They are too stupid to know any better…" Which of course is not racism either.

I tried to cover this issue long ago with a poem

Animal Ranch

Ten little piggies in a piggy pen bought a goat to work for them.
They gave that goat a kick and hit and made him live in the crap.
They screamed and hollered and called him names.
They wouldn’t let him play in their little piggy games.
Pigs were better than the goats for they were pink and wore no coats.
Ten piggies treated that goat like crap and pretty soon it hated back.
And now I hear who’s to blame, the guilt is equal it’s all the same.
Bullcrap!
