Bush admin let bin Laden go, now GOP is taking credit for capture

You can’t swing a dead elephant without hearing a Republican bragging that they had carefully laid the groundwork to capture Osama Bin Laden, and that whatever honor and glory there might be, rightly belongs to them, and to the Bush administration.

Republican bragging makes it all the more interesting to travel back in time. Bush made Bin Laden into the great boogie man of 9/11 but oddly, he later announced that capturing Bin Laden was not a worry or concern of his. Bush was telling the truth, because when Delta Force had Bin Laden in their sites, and were ready to capture him, they were called off from on high. Bush also wouldn’t let troops go to Pakistan, which guaranteed Bin Laden and his Al Qaeda operatives safety.

I say give Republicans the dubious ‘honor’ when they can tell us why some in their midst helped hide Bin Laden this past decade, and when they can confess why we have really lost over 4,000 soldiers chasing Dubya’s ‘Axis of Evil.’
