Donald Trump in particular, can be heard bleating that he’ll ‘make America great again’ – but satirist Bassem Youssef wonders if it isn’t pretty great already? To gain some insight, Youssef questioned a wide range of people to find out where they believe the U.S. stacks up against other countries. Is it possible that we’re still number one in some areas, and maybe still pretty great in general?
While we do have some big warts nationally, such as a high incarceration rate; the ultra-competitive can take pride in the knowledge that we’re number one in the world! It’s interesting to see which people tend to be optimistic, and which individuals seem to be pessimistic, and maybe a touch paranoid. While some feel national pride, and believe that we are the world’s peace-keepers, others fear that China, Russia have left us in the dust. I just wonder where the latter group has been getting their ‘news’?!
