That passage is up front in the second chapter of the first book. That right there is more than enough to realize what a horror show one is getting into. GOD SAYS! If ever there was cause to throw the baby out with the bath water there ya go.
Quite often the humor goes missing from Right-wing cartoons. In fact Rameriz and McCoy often remind me of Rush Limbaugh who so often exclaims what an overweight, cold hearted, selfish, greedy, bigoted, racist, name calling right-wing jerk he is! And then laughs at his home spun sarcasm. Trouble is sarcasm does not work well the reality is that Rush Limbaugh really is an overweight, cold hearted, selfish, greedy, bigoted, racist right-wing jerk! Kick! Rush Limbaugh Section
This cartoon by Chuck Asay is one such example. On my first read I though that even conservative cartoonists has to balk at Beck, Palin, the Tea Baggers and their silly crap. That this man is smart enough to understand how patently absurd it is that the answer to fixing the economy, unemployment, debt and war is to wave the Bible around in one hand and Constitution in the other. It goes beyond absurd into the realm of psychotic.
In fact I was so confused I had to Google the guy. As soon as I realized he was from Colorado Springs (a city owned and operated by evangelical Christians) it became clear. Nope, no sarcasm in that cartoon. It is the real thing. That indeed, the way to solve our problems in America which is already the silliest Christian nation on Earth, we only need MORE Religious intolerance and Constitutional Constructionism to become even more bigoted and batcrap crazy than we already are. Here’s one from the newer book I am sure they like too.
