List of House and Senate Republicans who voted with George W. Bush Medicare Veto

The issue made more news than normal because Senator Edward Kennedy who was recently operated on for a malignant brain tumor saw it as so important he came out of seclusion to the Senate Chamber to vote against George W. Bush's veto of the Medicare bill.

The issue is not that complicated. The recent reduction in Medicare funding of 10% has caused doctors to stop taking new patients under the Medicare plan, leaving more and more of our senior citizens with no health insurance and little recourse other than they die while wealthy Republicans live. This is a very very REPUBLICAN issue, an example of that we all have suffered for a generation under their cold callous nastyass boot. All Democrats voted to override the veto, only Republicans voted against our senior citizens.

This is much like the Senator Phil Gramm foo-pah last week telling us that our economic woes are all in our head. John McCain was about the only Republican to disagree, only because he is in a tight race. All conservative (Republican) pundits and most Republicans in office agreed with Gramm.

Sure there are lots more Texans on the list than from any other state, but it is okay because they and the people they represent are very well armed.

Both Texas Senators, Hutchinson and Cornyn did vote to override the President's veto. Cornyn is up for re-election and Hutchinson is on her way to the Governors Mansion. Which by the way, burned down recently. More likely it was shot and then burned down.

Maureen Dowd, Hillary Clinton and Laura Bush Kills her Boyfriend

During her husband’s presidential runs, many reporters shied away from asking Laura Bush about the freakishly horrible accident she had when she was 17. Hurrying to a party, she ran a stop sign in Midland, Tex., one night on Farm Road 868 and ran into a car that turned out to be driven by the golden boy of her high school, a cute star athlete she was believed to have had a crush on. He died instantly of a broken neck. Dreams of Laura

Maureen Dowd did her Sunday piece on one of those political books where fiction and the real world collide. Much like Primary Colors a decade ago was the story of the Clintons in the White House, American Wife by Curtis Sittenfeld is really the story of Laura Bush.

I am still often asked by my now college age kids what's the difference between a Democrat and a Republican.  At one time they were actually interested in my answers, but now it seems they only ask out of politeness to see what crazyass thing I come up with.

The above quoted paragraph from Clinton Hater Maureen Dowd [I suppose that was unfair as Maureen seems to hate just about everybody] puts a few exclamation marks at the end of the question.

What's the difference between a Republican and a Democrat?!!

Lean back now, close your eyes, go back to 1992. It is found that Hillary Clinton ran a stop sign, hit a car driven by her lover who's neck was instantly broken and he died on the spot.

Are you with me on this?  Hillary admits it on the TODAY show and the media "shied away" from going any further with the story.  Gosh...

So now pick your self up off the floor and get back in your chair. What is it now, 2008? Subtracted from 1992 would be 16 years.

The story would still be on the front page and the topic of talk radio now 16 tears later! It would have been the biggest story of all time causing many to ask, OJ who?

So there you have the difference between Republicans and Democrats. Keep that in mind when you vote. Oh and Republicans are peeking in your windows so close the drapes. Remember that too. And they think the price of gas you are paying at the pump is just in your head. Remember that too... This could go on and on and on hey...

The Trouble is not George Bush but the Dead Elephant he Rode in on

By huge margins, Americans think the economy is in lousy shape — and they blame President Bush. This fact, more than anything else, makes it hard to see how the Democrats can lose this election.
But is the public right to be so disgusted with Mr. Bush’s economic leadership? Not exactly. We really do have a lousy economy, a fact of which Mr. Bush seems spectacularly unaware.
But that’s not the same thing as saying that the bad economy is Mr. Bush’s fault. On the other hand, there’s a certain rough justice in the public’s attitude. Other politicians besides Mr. Bush share the blame for the mess we’re in — but most of them are Republicans.  Paul Krugman NYT - Behind the Bush Bust

dead elephantKrugman blames the economy on three factors, the housing bubble, rise in health care costs and now the rise in cost of energy and all commodities. George W. Bush was culpable in all of it, but all of it is also hard written into the Republican Party Platform, especially since the neo confederate right-wing fringe took over Congress in 1994.  Gringrich, DeLay, Armey and Lott.

Soon the RNC will be meeting to write the GOP Platform for 2008. Presently George W. Bush's name is on 91 of the 100 pages of the 2004 platform. The game will be for the lunatic fringe to not allow McCain to dirty up their platform with anything reasonable.

The fight will be to hold strong some issues that will be no problem with John McCain:

Personhood begins at conception
Tax Breaks for the wealthy
Drilling for oil in Malibu and Miami Beach
Tearing down the separation of Church and State
Keeping the government out of health care
Throwing Social Security to Hedge Funds
And of course the favorite, more war in more places!

All very reasonable positions for any stone age people, but there are a few positions they are going to have a fight over where McCain questions the orthodoxy:

Stem cell research is murder
No regulations on campaign money
Doing something other than gestapo raids regards immigration
And his belief along with everyone in the world other than the RNC that Global Warming is real

Damn Reggin

The politically incorrect are now having fun with the anagram reggin. Shouting it out at parties and on the street is all fine and well, after all, we all hate whiney, anal retentive liberal political correctness. But in schools and the workplace reggin and some other terms known to be racist are becoming verboten by the courts. Like refering to a black coworker as Cornelius (referring to the ape in the Planet of the Apes movies). This has also been what right wing radio host, pet killer and racist Ted Nugent calls all downtown areas of cities, Planet of the Apes, which he contends is nothing racial. On the intellectual plane, Ted Nugent is about level with a planaria. See God, Guns and Rock and Roll.

Oh and not to forget the biggie okay word for a long time now, YOU PEOPLE! You know who you are!

The question of course is who do these people who use these terms think they are fooling? Each other? African Americans? Me? You? Who?

Okay a good share of them really are that stupid thinking it's all a code over the heads of everyone else, but the majority know damn well what they are saying and are very proud of it. Why?

I would suppose primarily they do it to make friends. Like minded pals with the same interests like guns and monster trucks.

But there are also not a few who to it purposely trying to egg on a politically correct backlash and lawsuit. If the bait is taken, they notify David Horowitz (this is his main job on Earth), Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly, Glenn Beck or Sean Hannity to take the case of frivolous politically correct lawsuits to the people. And everyone - other than Jackson/Sharpton, a few old ladies in New Hampshire, and some queers downtown - hate and despises political correctness. Which in turn causes Democrats to lose lots and lots and LOTS of elections.

Is there a formula for this I wonder? Can education levels, intelligent tests, guns owned, first cousins married, Summer temperatures, confederate flags displayed, Harley's owned, face hardware worn, tattoos presented, front teeth missing, meth use...  Can they all be applied to some scientific formula?

Well whatever, "frightened people clinging to guns and religion" falls far short of who these, the most sought after voters of our electorate, really are.

The James Pence Terrorist Video

Though a very well done political video I have to steer away from the conclusion that wealthy greedy Republicans are the cause of all our misery. Rather it is the majority of the electorate who vote against their own self interest because of their religious intolerance, nationalist jingoism, racial and ethnic bigotry and of course hating anyone they perceive as being smarter than they are (which of course includes just about everyone.)

Reverend Mike Huckabee Joins Fox News

”I have signed on to be a part of the Fox News Channel family. I hope to bring the unique perspective from “inside the dragon’s belly” as well as to try and speak for the millions of hard-working middle class Americans who really do feel that their voices are not being heard. I saw that on the campaign trail and continue to see as I speak to groups of all kinds around the country as well as campaign for other candidates. I’m looking forward to what I hope will be a very satisfying relationship not only for the Fox News Channel and me, but even more for the people of America.” Fundamentalist Preacher Mike Huckabee of signing on to Fox News Channel.

Fox News Channel has hired the kind and gentle Christian fundamentalist preacher Mike Huckabee as an all around politics guy to compliment their roster of mostly secular mean and nasty commentators. Adding a creation scientist who personally talks with Jesus Christ is a win for FOX which hopes to gather more of that American Moron viewership from the Christian Channels over to Fox News. Mixing fundamentalist religion with politics is always good for all concerned. For as we know, Iran is now at the top of their game as is Kuiwat, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, United Arab Emirates and Dubia... Oh that Dubia!

The 800 ounce Chimp in the Room for McCain

It isn't even George Bush this time, but the 50 pound evil monkey triplets he beat in the primaries that he now carriers the water for:

Speak no evil. Like Romney, McCain is not going to talk economic issues for "Average Americans" unless of course, it is about THEIR taxes.

See no evil. Like Giuliani, McCain is a lifelong civil servant who badmouths "Big Government" although never noticing who wrote EVERY paycheck.

Hear no evil. Like Huckabee, McCain is needing tremendous voter turnout of the "Religious Right" and will hear nothing of Supreme Court MODERATE nominees.

If McBush wins in November, the graduating class of 2012 will have had portraits of Evil Chimps up on the school walls for their entire educational life. Darwin would be proud.

Scott McClellan Tells truth, Dan Bartlett and Republicans Shocked and Puzzled

The adjectives are flying high, Explosive! and Shocking! says the media of Scott McClellan's book, What Happened. Republicans from talk radio, the floor of congress, the White House and Texas are shocked! and puzzled?. Bush loyalist Dan Bartlett says the book is "total crap!"

[Is it just me or does Dan Bartlett pictured here have a much bigger flag lapel pin than is normal attire for Republicans? If so, it follows he is more patriotic than other Republicans (like Scott McClellan for example) and so what he says goes. It is settled, the book is total crap!]

McClellan, a Republican, has told the truth 70% of Americans have known for most of 4 years. That George W. Bush thinks with his gut, decides with his religion, and runs the White House as a GOP political machine rather than a place of the people, by the people and for the people. That he and his administration lied about WMDs, Valarie Plame, Niger nukes and didn't really give a hoot about Katrina victims who vote for Democrats. That they are more concerned with pushing conservative ideology than they are with the American people. Well Duh... I could have wrote that book in my sleep.

McClellan's accusations were about as ho humm as it gets until the media declared his book more shaking than earthquakes and more ominous than floods. One right after another the Bush politicos have come out from under their rocks to prove just how correct McClellan is when he claims the administration is run as a political propaganda machine. Its called the GOP "DUH$" Factor. Those who vote Republican are either wealthy enough to not care about much of anything but their back pocket, or too stupid to understand any damn thing. Admittedly a winning combination.

Perhaps I am too hard on the media in this case. After all, a Republican, a Republican in the Bush Administration no less, telling the truth to the American people is something we have never seen before and will probably never see again. It is the Nature of the Beast.

A CNN call in poll (which means nothing) just came in with 91% saying they believe Scott McClellan and 8% believe the Bush Administration.

Correction!

The above picture is of Ed Gillespe who replaced Dan Bartlett in 2007. This is a picture of Dan Bartlett. Please notice that Mr Bartlett is not wearing a flag lapel pin. In fact in none of the Google search results can I find him with a flag lapel pin. This of course means whatever he has to say does not matter. So please disregard this entire article.

Bush Spokesman Scott McClellan Gives Bush a Kick in the Head

Scott McClellan, the Bush Administration's Press Secretary through the buildup of the Iraq War has a new book, What Happened: Inside the Bush White House and Washington’s Culture of Deception.

Leaks from the book hit the wire this morning and the Bush Administration is none too pleased. McClellan calls Karl Rove and Scooter Libby dishonest by deceiving the American people with the reasons for war and claims the press was complicit with that deception. He also points fingers at the administration's outing of Valarie Plame and the failed response to Hurricane Katrina.

Of course the book is to cover McClellan's butt for all the lying and deceit he was forced to push, but he must also be given some credit for the unusual aspect of a Republican being honest and forthright. Something you can be sure you will never hear or read from the likes of Tony Snow. At least now they have a deceitful liar with a pretty face! Exclusive: McClellan whacks Bush, White House

Michael Savage Makes Fun of Ted Kennedy's Tumor

When the news broke that Senator Kennedy had a malignant brain tumor, Jewish talk show host and America's favorite bigot, racist and dirtbag Michael Savage responded to the news in standard hate fueled savagery. He constantly played a clip of Arnold Schwarzenegger from "Kindergarten Kids" saying "It's not a tumor!", played songs by the Dead Kennedy's so he could keep saying "Dead Kennedy's", and other forms of popular Republican fun.

Michael Wiener is the the third most listened to talk show host in America after Limbaugh and Hannity. He is on live early evenings from San Francisco. So few listen to him there that they just assumed he was broadcasting from Selma, Alabama.

This of course reminds one of Rush Limbaugh's eulogies of Kurt Kobain and Jerry Garcia who he called worthless drug addicts and good riddance to bad rubbish, and even more reminiscent of the 2006 election where he made fun of Michael J. Fox Parkinson's disease. Or going back to Limbaugh's beginnings in Sacremento where he gained his fame by reading off the names of men who had died from AIDS and hitting the laugh or applause button each time. Character matters!

One might hope Savage has gone too far and this will finally do him in after so many years of his filthy racist blather. Especially when it was carried on two stations in Massachusetts. After all, he did get tossed off MSNBC for telling a gay caller "I hope you get AIDS and die!" Which is pretty much what he is saying to Senator Kennedy. But that was television not radio, and unlike television, the more bigoted, racist, stupid, and disgusting it is on the radio, the larger the share.

There is some cause to wonder why that may be. Like most things there is no single answer but being from Dumbutt, I can take a few good guesses. Of the millions of listeners a week Savage enjoys I would guess the vast majority are very likely listening from those old 13 confederate states where they live so down deep in those hollars they can't get FM radio or even television for that matter. They are stuck with AM talk shows all day and all night. Well, that and trillions of Christian AM stations which pretty much push the same intolerance and bigotry. But what about the millions of other listeners spread out all over this fine nation of ours?

Well if you listen these days to Savage you can see that those he says need to be eliminated changes with the times. He began with dirty lazy smelly African Americans, then with 911 it switched to dirty lazy smelly Moslem's, and over the past two years its been almost wholly dirty lazy smelly Mexicans! So Savage is riding high on the anti-immigration fervor, mostly in the border states, and most mostly here in Dumbutt, Texas.

There is something to all those old racist groups we remember seeming to have vanished off the radar, but the people in them still count in the tens of millions. The change is in the names, no big populations of the KKK or Skinheads anymore, the same kind of people have just regrouped, with the help of the Republican PR machine, semantically changed the definition of what they are from "racists" to "nativists". They also changed the names of their organizations to The Minutemen, or the American Border Patrol, or what have you. Oh, and they all vote! Like 100% turn out.

Huckabees Obama Joke at NRA convention falls flat

Gov Mike Huckabee at the annual NRA convention in Lexington, Kentucky cracked a joke that even the lunatic fringe NRA audience found in poor taste. Addressing the group from the podium, Huckabee responded to a loud backstage crash saying,

That was Barack Obama. He just tripped off a chair. He's getting ready to speak and somebody aimed a gun at him and he — he dove for the floor.

Christian fundamentalist lunatic fringe Republican Huckabee later apologized to the lunatic fringe NRA.

I guess why it was received so poorly by the crowd was the implication that the NRA is gunning for Barack Obama. Or maybe just pointing their guns at him to scare him a little.

What with all the James Earl Rays' living on my street down here in Dumbutt, Texas and now adding this little NRA yuck to the game gives new meaning to Full Metal Jacket.

I must also commend John McCain. While sucking up this lunatic fringe organization in Lexington he choose his words correctly when he said we should not "dismiss gun owners as some kind of fringe group." Indeed, it is not gun owners who are the lunatics, it's the NRA, the most powerful right-wing lobby in America. McCain's aim is to woo NRA at its convention

Deport Lou Dobbs to FOX NEWS where he Belongs

It is way past time for CNN to dump Lou Dobbs. On television there is no angrier white guy, no nastier human being, no one who slings the xenophobic nationalist jingo swag more than Lou Dobbs. If I am just passing channels and I see his deformed angry spitting face, or even worse, that smug I know better than you condescending smirk of a smile, I become virtually violent. I want to grab his virtual head tightly under my arm and punch his face into flesh colored pixels until he shuts the * up!

Since 1988 I have been a watcher and writer of the Right-wing media and its characters. I have suffered through many years of listening to Rush Limbaugh, Dr. Laura, O'Reilly, Hannity, and even Ann Coulter, none of whom hold a candle to this angry condescending nativist (that's the new conservatively correct word for racist) who has taken nationalism further than even Germany in the 1930's.

He is so intrinsically hateful and horrible that when he is on I switch to FOX NEWS to get a far far more fair and balanced view of things.

US Customs to arrest Illegals fleeing Hurricanes

Our anti-immigration fervor has moved our new home grown federal police force ICE, closer to the old German Gestapo. US Customs has proudly let it be known that those fleeing diasaters such as hurricanes will be stopped, searched and if they don't have proper papers be arrested and deported. A death sentence for many Hispanic families. Also keep in mind that Hispanic LOOKING people who forgot their papers, or lost them in the storm will be dragged from their family and put in prisons.

Down here in Dumbutt we have what we call The Valley, This is an area larger than most states bordering on Mexico with very high Hispanic populations. Like any Hispanic community, most of these families have at least one family member or good friend who is undocumented. It could be the father, the child, the bother, the wife, the Aunt, Grandma, or just cousin Jesus who lives in the garage. How many will take the chance of getting on a bus or into a van to escape a deadly storm to lose a family member from deportation. The end of that person's life as they know it?

On a daily basis down here in Dumbutt we read in our papers or watch on local television our new federal police force, ICE, crashing into homes and businesses dragging hard working people out of buildings and tossing them into the backs of police wagons. Stealing mothers from children, children from fathers and leaving small business without a labor force and into the red. And believe it or not, the loss of business, sales taxes, rent and so on is becoming worse than the services drag this is suppose to be about. This is just proof in the pudding that this is really about racism, bigotry and intolerance. ADAF

Senate Democrats reject half percent tax on Millionaires for GI Benefits

At first this headline seems out of whack, shouldn't it read Republicans? This tax passed by the House recently put a .5% surcharge on millionaires to enhance the GI Bill giving our soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan much needed help in perusing college educations. Can we surmise that even Democrats can no long increase taxes by any trifling amount to pay as we go?

Not really, this is a complicated parliamentary and political game involving separate forms of funding, in this case the differences between war funding and budget funding, and the politics of ending the war.

The bottom line is that any tax increase, even a half a percent upon millionaires or increase in any social program, soldiers or not, will be vetoed by George Bush and upheld by Senate Republicans. As we all know, Jesus hates taxes, it was the basis of his ministry as it is now America's.

The point of this article is a reminder that no matter which Democrat wins in November, that come February, without a presidential veto on all things reasonable as we have now, things are going to change greatly. In fact it may become so depressing to Republicans in Congress that perhaps it would be a humane endeavor to spend a little tax money to put safety nets below all Republican's office windows. Or not...

Polar Bears go Endangered due to Global Warming

Seeming out of whack with Republican ideology, the Bush Administration's Department of the Interior declared the first animal endangered due to Climate Change. I am sure the last holdouts still pounding the drum that global warming is a Marxist conspiracy by liberals to destroy America, Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity, are rolling in their graves. Oops, my recent optimism carried me away.

Delving further into the issue one finds it is not the canard first seemed to be. Interior Secretary Dirk Kempthorne, in direct conflict with the Endangered Species Act has added riders exempting oil companies from drilling in polar bear habitat. He also angrily made it known that this would not cause any energy companies to have to clean up their air in Alaska or anywhere else.

Making it even easier to understand just how out of touch Bush Appointments are, Dale Hall, director of Department of Fish and Wildlife said:

"The law was intended to preserve species and their habitats from localized threats such as filling wetlands, felling trees and development. He cast doubt on whether far-flung conditions, such as emissions from tailpipes, feedlots and smokestacks around the globe, could be directly linked to the shrinking sea ice." LA Times reporter Ken Weiss.

"We have to connect the dots between an action and an impact on a species, We don't have the science to do that." Dale Hall

So damn if I don't have to apologize to Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity. The Director of Department of Fish and Wildlife also is a clueless moron too! Polar bear is added to the endangered species list
