First we have the biting satire from Stephen Colbert on this, the worst Supreme Court decision since Dred Scott. It makes the political decision of Bush V Gore look like non partisan child's play.

CNN legal scholar Jeffery Tobin adda a bit of gravitas to this election changing game.

Looking into this a big further a few things struck me. First of all how purely political it is. The five conservative Republicans on the court are in lock step to bring this up and override 100 years of precedent and knowingly - with malice a forethought - further hand over our election process to those who have not only the most money, but who are driven only by profit rather than any issue of common good.

No limits on money handed to politicians or the media so Exxon/Mobile can foul the planet.
No limits on Cigna/WellPoint to create even more death cubicles sending grandma to rescission Hell.
No limits on Rush Limbaugh EIB network spending his 240 million a year on a media blitz to put his music video of Barack The Magic Negro across the networks 24/7.

Antonin "Benito" Scalia was of course the most dishonest of the gang by centering his questions around the silly business that if not acted upon it would deny free political speech to the mom and pop owners of your local Quickee Mart. I mean really. Yeah that's what this is about?  No, this is about this last election where the wealthy Right lost to a... a... Uppity... A uppity... A uppity liberal... Hmmm...

[After hearing President Jimmy Carter last night say that a very substantial part of this anger at President Obama is racism, and Mornin' Joe Scarborough declare that is just not true, I guess I must defer to the one time Congressman from the most radical racist right-wing doctor shooting area of America, the Florida Panhandle.]

This Supreme Court decision is perfectly tuned to the base ideology of these kind of people who not only believe that corporations with the most money should have the most speech - so much speech it displaces the speech of actual people - but also who strongly believe that those with the most money should receive the best health care and the best justice - as this case so well suggests.

I do well at coming up with new ways of becoming unpopular! Dangerously so by arguing against guns. But also going against the general flow of Americana in decrying capital punishment, corporeal punishment, silly religious crap,  revenge and saying most recently saying some very well deserved bad things about Quentin Tarantino. This all of course makes me unpatriotic, unAmerican and the most dreaded of all persuasions, a pacifist. OH MY GOD! So let me add another unAmericanism to the growing list to piss just about everyone off!

Scotland, working under British law released the Lockerbie Pan Am terrorist back to his family in Libya the other day. Big news here in America as we watched cable news networks give us the entire live feed of the van going to the airport aka OJ Simpson.

There are three issues at work in this. 

First is that European secular concept of compassion which our American Christian culture has not a clue to. A team of doctors have said the man has advanced prostrate cancer with less than 3 months to live. They sent him home to die with his family. Oh the HORROR! I say let everyone in the world who has only 3 months to live go home to die with their family.

Secondly is that Europe and most of the rest of the world see terrorism as a horrible crime and treat it as such RATHER THAN a cause to change constitutions, legal systems, prisons and initiate preemptive wars and torture! TORTURE! Gosh... I know I know, THEY are lined up to blow up our malls and kill our children! Oh and destroy democracy and freedom on our shores! No, we did that, which was exactly what they intended us to do. Gosh, The United States of Duh. 

But it is the third issue that has been festering in my Jite World View for so long that its time to admit to it.

When we allow victim's families into our legal system it destroys our system of blind justice. It adds not only emotions into what is ideally the cold hard rule of law, but it also confuses justice with vengeance.

Our amber alerts, our probation and parole systems and above all that Sex Offender DVD have been hijacked by angry revenge seeking victim families. Those who have paid their price and those who have done little wrong are put on the same list as murdering rapists. These angry families see to it that there are no second chances, that there is no hope for jobs or even a place to live for those who have paid their price to society. Often a sentence of life under a bridge or having their homes burned down by American Mobs.

It is victim families who go to parole boards to keep those who paid their dues to keep them forever behind bars. This vengeance is not only devoid of mercy, compassion, and Christian theology but fouls our legal system with emotions rather than the Rule of Law.

Sure this is all AMERICAN, but just because something is American doesn't automatically make it right. Holy Shit did I say that?  Gosh... 

Down here in Dumbutt we execute a few poor souls most every week. The news most always begins with a lengthy emotional report on the terrible crime followed by quotes of victim family members commenting on how much they needed, wanted or enjoyed the execution.

Sorry! That is not news. That is humanity just being less than it can be. The news regarding these executions comes rarely when a victim family member stands up against the execution and for Jesus Christ by refusing to extend the circle of vengeance to yet another family of victims. BTW, those outside the unit promoting executions wear Jesus on their sleeve. HOW DISGUSTING. Gosh...

As to guns. I have to also say the unpopular thing. What kind of a society to we live in when we are so afraid we have to have take a gun to bed, in glove box and tucked in our pants or purse?
It is a sure sign that something is very very wrong with America.

Not enough SOCIALISM is my guess!

80% of retail stores have said that shoplifting has increased over the past few months. About the same percentage for professionals and amateurs. Poor economy blamed for rise in shoplifting - Survey of 52 chain stores showed 84% experiencing increase in amateur crimes

It is not yet known if the now infamous shoplifting dog of Murry, Utah is a pro or an amateur. Now a few days after the fact without an arrest, it seems the dog was a pro. After all, it was caught on video and he has so far eluded arrest.



With more and more of these stories sure to be coming at us things get worse, my hopes are up that a new generation of readers will pick up one of the greatest books in classical literature, Victor Hugo's Les Miserables.

The story of Jean Val Jean who suffering the poverty before the French Revolution steals a loaf of bread to feed his hungry child, is caught at the scene and promptly sentenced to 20 years rowing in the bowels of French Warship.

After his release, poor paperwork causes him to be hounded for another 20 years through the French countryside and the sewers of Paris during the Revolution by the unrelenting Inspector Jarvet who is dead set on sending him back to prison, the rule of law.

Warning Spoiler [The chances of anyone under 50 reading this book, or any such book for that matter, are about nil]

Victor Hugo ends his 2000 page epic chase with the two men finally confronting each other on a bridge over the Seine River in Paris. Val Jean's life is recounted as a long series of good deeds while Jarvet recounts his life of living the mindless authority of the letter of the law. Val Jean walks into the sunset a free and content man while Jarvet realizes his life was wasted and jumps to his death.

Who hasn't been tempted to shoot a balky mower? Keith Waldenowsky of Milwaukee had a bit - okay more than a bit to drink before finding that the mower wouldn't start Wednesday morning and shooting it. He told police quote, "I can do that, it's my lawn mower and my yard so I can shoot it if I want." It turns out that euthanasia of one's lawn mower is not just between the owner and the machine. Charged with felony possession of a short-barreled shotgun or rifle and misdemeanor disorderly conduct while armed may lead to an $11,000 fine and six years and three months in prison if convicted. Man shoots own lawn mower may get prison. Joe Horn shot MAN in back, goes free?

It looks as though if you live in Texas like Joe Horn, you can shoot people in the back and walk - if they are a minority, and not only avoid prison but be lauded by some racist residents. In Milwaukee, you may well do time for shooting an inanimate object. Just proves we are ruled by robot overlords. As expected it was a 5 to 4 ruling from the Right to get more guns to more people everywhere AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! As everyone knows, the problem here in America is we just don't have enough guns to go around.

On the surface it would seem the conservative leaning Supreme Court would side with Washington DC (as a state) to do as they please, which is what being a conservative is most about; states rights today, states rights tomorrow and states rights forever! (that has a familiar ring I just can't seem to place). But much like the Supreme Court conservatives who in 2000 gave us 8 years of a creepy stupid asshole for president, this too is a very political decision, an example of the conservative court going activist.

This is far reaching, it means cities and states no longer have the constitutional right to control handguns and also states that gun ownership is now an individual right. This means all present gun controls will be contested by the NRA, the Militias, the racist and anti-immigration groups and of course the Bloods and the Cripps.  

Taking this decision to the international level, this court would have to decide that it is only fair to allow North Korea and Iran to join the nuclear weapon club. Doen't everyone have the right to defend themselves in an equal manner?  It's also great to know that places such as Canada, England, Europe, Austrailia and Japan are now no longer considered free nations. 

So stock up, the small arms race has begun!

Good deals can be had in this economic downturn. Prices are down across the board. The best weapon for the toddler through 12 year old group is the rather short barreled semi automatic .22 long (cartidge) rifle that is available at Walmart for under $100. May soon be available also at gas stations and McDonalds.

Moving up the price scale the easily hidden and handy machine pistols like the Mach 10 and UZI are good for taking along on walks or rides on the bus or in the car. Also good for bars.

The 9 mm automatic pistols are pricey but most popular. Always a good weapon to flash around to show friends and enemies alike you are doing well.

But of course the weapon of choice is the AK47 also known as the Kalashnikov. If you are a male who wants both respect and firepower this is the weapon of choice for every terrorist and crime lord in the world. Justice Anthony Kennedy once again stopped the Right-wing from going off the fascist deep end. In this case Kennedy stopped the creation of the world's largest and busiest execution chamber, the United States.

The issue of course was not child rapists but whether the constitution allows execution of ANY non capital offense other than homicide (spies and traitors not with standing). Kennedy's decision reads well to the intellectual reality rather than the emotional violence we feel in regards to children being raped.

The four dissenters need not be named, if you follow these things you know who they are. Whenever it comes to killing more people or peeking in your windows it's always the more Christian Justices with blood on their chins tape recorders in their pants. Scalia, Thomas, Alito and Roberts. Here is what the Four Horseman of The Violently Christian wanted to accomplish:

1. Open up the door to executions to states for any reason.

2. Re sentence thousands of present child rapists moving many to various death rows.

3. Give child rapists a great deal more incentive to kill their victims.

4. Increase executions so the United States beats out even Iran and China! Whoop de Do! Always striving to be first is what America is about.

5. And of course increasing executions is what Jesus Would Do.

Have to add Senator Barack Obama to the many other persons and groups who are Christ Bent upon expanding executions in America: Antonin Scalia, Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, John Roberts, The Aryan Nations, Dr James Dobson, The Stormfront, The Baptist Southern Convention, Bill Bennett, The Ku Klux Klan, the state of Texas, Rush Limbaugh, the National Association for the Advancement of White People, George W. Bush, the Neocons, Sean Hannity, the National Alliance, Michael Savage and of course Dick Cheney who wants to apply the death penalty personally to whoever comes within range.

Addition:

I forgot to add to the list the vast majority of American voters who want to expand executions in the United States. After all it was only yesterday that the Pew Research Center told us how singularly religious and Christian we all are. Expanding executions only proves the point. Which means George Carlin was right, "religion is bullshit!."

The day after a jury sentenced cop killer Juan Quintero to Life without Parole, the fine Christian people here in Dumbutt are angry, bloodlust angry.

One of the jurors, Cindy Bradford, who voted for execution (obviously a Christian) went to the press to say that the 10 to 2 decision to not execute this Hispanic illegal immigrant was because everyone was tired and wanted to go home. Gary Blankenship president of the Houston Police Officers Union said he would lobby the state legislature to rewrite sentencing laws to add Life Without Parole and Isolation. Studies find that most inmates go insane after 6 months of isolation. Which of course is the point of the new law.

Talk shows and letters to the editor seem to have all been shouted or penned in large red ALL CAP fonts. This is the stuff of revolution here in Texas...

The Great Wall of Texas is proceeding, as are gun sales and carry permits, executions, giving children back to child sexual abusers and what seems an endless stream of patriotic funerals of young men coming home from the other side of the world.

All of course pointing to Texas being a Christian State in Christian nation not one of whom as a clue in Hell as to what Christianity means.

Here is an example of a Christian. Two robbers entered a convenience store in Houston, one pointed a gun into the clerks face while the other held a knife to his chest, took the money and ran. Ash Hussein the 22 year old clerk grabbed a gun and followed them outside, he shot at the car 4 times to stop them but killed one. "This is a day I'll never forget, I wish it hadn't happened, but it did. Someone died over this, that just makes me feel uneasy." In Fort Hood, Texas, Richard Torres (back from a tour in Iraq) put his AR-15 assault rifle, his .45 automatic pistol and 171 rounds of ammo into his car to drive to California to either see or shoot his mother on Mother's Day. Or perhaps just shoot some people on the way...

"WARNING ILLEGAL TO CARRY FIREARMS/AMMUNITION INTO MEXICO. PENALTY — PRISON."

Torres got lost in El Paso and found himself crossing the Rio Grande into Mexico where he was immediately arrested for weapon trafficking. Presently it is hard for the Mexican government to accept it is just a mistake with all the assassinations of politicians and police going on at present with just these kinds of weapons. And of course the good money in selling them in Mexico.

Richard is in a lot of trouble because he enjoyed carrying an assault rifle around with him. Or a gun of any kind for that matter. If he had found some hobby other than mindless gonad expanding shooting the crap out of stuff, he would be in Sunny California with his Mom having a swell time.

Three last things I would like to say to any BJ Impeachment conservatives who want to defend this man....
