Friday, August 1. 2008McCain Eats His Loafers It's been pretty darn easy of late to get sick of and tired of US presidential politics. Seems like we've been in a four year campaign ever since Bush/Cheney/Rove stole a second election in 2004. And let's face a grim fact here; one didn't have to be much of a genius to predict that four more years of Bush would be a disaster in every way imaginable. This crew is so incompetent they could turn honey into shit just by standing too close to it. And that's just about the gist of what's happened. Clinton left them eight unprecedented years of peace and prosperity, not to mention a huge surplus, and what we have now can only be described as a huge pile of poo poo. Talk about the gang that couldn't shoot straight, well, except for Cheney who on a controlled quail hunt managed to miss the quail and instead shot his friend, in the face. Sorta like trying to shoot fish in a barrel, and missing. How typical of this administration.Personally, I am so sick and tired of American politics in general, and the current presidential election in particular, that I don't know why I even bother to write anymore. For over eight years our like minded crew have been tapping out stories about republican hypocrisy, scandals, screw ups, lawbreaking and just about everything else we once considered anti-American to the point that our fingers are bleeding. Yet after a perfect eight days by Obama overseas under the scrutiny of the MSM and rest of the entire world press, and with McCain suffering foot in mouth gaffe after gaffe with his $520 Ferragamo's, the so-called national polls are calling the race by only a few points in Obama's favor. In a normal world Obama would be ahead by double digits, triple digits even, but this world has been anything but normal the past seven and a half years. Obama: smart, articulate, good looking, nice family, with a message Americans have been waiting to hear. McCain: he's a worse speaker than Bush if that's possible. You can put lipstick on him, dress him up in fancy loafers, herd him out in front of loyal repub crowds and he still comes off as a complete dufus. Even the rare sane repubs are questioning his performance which only makes me wonder why this race is so close. If Barack Obama was white and his name was John Smith, is it possible he'd be ahead by 35 points? Of course it's a race issue. Obama saying he doesn't look like the fellows on our paper money was enough for the McCain campaign to scream and holler "race card!" And though wrong it doesn't matter, Obama's polls sink. Lies on the front end override the backlash on the tail end, putting the lies in the win column. Not only does this Carl Rove negative ad campaigning John McCain has bought into work, but lying about it works even better. The Swift Boat ads from last election were well funded lies and they were known to be lies at the time but that did not matter, they worked. So what can we learn from all this? McCain was brainwashed by Marxist Chinamen for 5 years in a prison camp in Hanoi. He is now one of their agents which they will use to destroy capitalism and democracy throughout the world. The big polling places give Obama a +6 but Fox News gives him a +1. Which drops the average down to about +4. RCP Polling There is something to the Fox News poll that the professional polling places are leaving out. The Bradley Effect which concerns how those questioned in polls lie about their racial tolerance. I would guess that difference would be at about 5%. The same number Fox News has come to terms with. After all, Fox marketing understands full well the racist nature and attitudes of their audience, which is the largest news audience in America. So now we have further increased the disconnect! Oh no! Both party and issues put John McCain 20 points behind but now factoring in the Bradley Effect it's a toss up. Remember we are dealing with the American voter. The only people who say they are intelligent are those looking for votes, those who are supported by advertising, or are the parachoial God fearing nitwits themselves. The rest of us understand full well this drawer for the dull knives and loaded guns are so easily manipulated by those with the most money that they will accept anything they WISH to believe. Remember, the majoirity of American voters believe in Creationism over Evolution. Democracy has been redefined as money driven media concensus. In this case it is DRILLING! Just like when the peanuts stop arriving on monkey island, or the dinner bell rings in Pavlov's lab, the numbers rolling up on that gas pump causes reason to wane and saliva to build. Drill at South Beach! And what the Hell with smart people soon taking over, before the stupid people actually begin drilling in ten years, the problem will be solved and oil used use only in "Plastics" - as Ben was wisely advised. In a normal and fair world McCain shouldn't stand a chance against anyone the democrats run for president, but this is not a normal or fair world as we've witnessed the past few election cycles. That said, I'm here to tell you we have a secret weapon and that's McCain himself. If anyone suggested that the GOP could come up with a worse public speaker than Bush, I would have taken three steps backwards and run away a hundred miles an hour. As embarrassing as Bush is in a public forum, McCain is worse. His gaffes, flip-flops and monotone "my friends," is beyond tolerable to human ears. He's everything none of us can stand listening to for even a few minutes. Until then the really disgusting stuff will mostly come from the lower orifices of talk radio hosts. I am also worried about Barack Obama's threat not long ago to leave his wife alone. That ainagonna happen, so he had best come to terms with it and settle down and not lose his cool. Another reason to bring Hillary and Bill into the White House. That experience of understanding just how horrible Republicans are is something both Obama's seem to lack. It could trip them up, which could turn the media against them as it turned against the Clinton's whenever they yelped unfair to any and all unfairness. Politics is becoming more and more like religion. [Or I am just recently becoming aware of that] It is so much about believing only what we want to believe while we will openly accept lies knowing they are lies and not caring.
The pundits are having trouble explaining why Barack Obama is only 5 points ahead in favorable ratings in the national polls when issues are broken down individually show Obama not only ahead by 10 to 20 points, but also with numbers favoring Democrats over Republicans even higher. So the question is why McCain is as close as he is.
Why can't Iran test missiles without Neocons, Republicans, and John McCain intoning the Holocaust and yapping about World War III? I suppose it goes back to the Monroe Doctrine, that WE can do what WE want wherever WE want come Hell or High Water and YOU can't! So there!! 
In 1971 Richard Nixon wanted to crush the peace movement in America. His aid Charles Colson brought to his attention a young anti-war upstart by the name of John Kerry. Colson told Nixon he guy was the most credible voice in the movement and had to be compromised. The two hand picked a recent Vietnam Veteran named John O'Neil to confront the young war hero on the Dick Cavett show. Nixon picked someone even more unfavorable to television cameras than he was. Mr. O'Neil came off as an obtuse skinny little Nixon Wonk who spent most of the hour fumbling through his notes, stammering, whining and being made a complete fool of.
The Obamacons have been talked about for many months now, the word refers to Republicans and conservatives who have become enamored with Barack Obama and may cross party lines either privately or publicly to vote for or endorse the Democratic Nominee. Today's column by Washington's Prince of Darkness, Robert Novak, brought the biggest issue in this to the forefront, what will Colin Powell do? 
On Meet the Press this morning Senator Lindsay Graham (R - South Carolina) leaked out the coming weeks' RNC Talking Points. "It's like trying to nail Jello to the wall!" Graham said of Barack Obama. You have to give House BJ Impeachment Manager, best friend and primary spokesman for John McCain and all around right-wing loon credit for so quickly substituting the word "Jello" instead of "slime" which will sure to be the term on GOP talk radio. 
The presumptive First Lady nominee Michelle Obama had best get ready for the coming GOP attack machine. One way would be for her husband to bring Hillary in as Vice President nominee. Hillary who has experienced what Republicans do to well educated uppity liberal bitches who have crashed through their glass ceiling. Or to put it lightly, Republicans inherently are going to attack women who are smarter than they are.
