Here again we have late night comedians taking on this Texas story gone national because the media is loath to make any negative comment upon religious beliefs. For as you can see in the video, these revelers of ignorance buy lots of Hostess products.

The Texas Board of Education is made up of 15 members, 10 Republicans (7 of which are Evangelical Creationists) and 5 Democrats who are all either Hispanic or Black. The votes are most always passed 10 to 5. It's not only by party line, by religious dogma and Republican revisionism, but also very much about racism. Which the Creationist members proudly admit, though they like using the word "multiculturalism" rather than the "spics and N-words".  

This video is about as good as it gets in defining these nitwits as the hard core nitwits they are. Who are revising history to not just our Texas children, but children throughout much of the rest of America. THEY ARE REMOVING THOMAS JEFFERSON for christsake! And GIVING JEFFERSON DAVIS EQUAL TIME WITH ABE LINCOLN for christsake! They are in charge of education for christsake!

Neither are these people a bit shy about what they are doing. They are in charge! They proudly proclaim the winners right the history! And this is a war of rapture between invisible sky creatures and the sorry likes of Thomas Jefferson and Abe Lincoln. They are going to push their slop come Hell or high water. High water... They have daily conversations with invisible sky creatures who direct their every move and thought but will not accept any evidence that things are warming up enough to bring any high water into our future. Funny and insightful Ricky Gervais briefly shares how his fervent childhood belief helped his Mom keep him happily in line for years. I think many will identify with Gervais' mother, and her use of religion to keep children under willing control. Much larger churches have done it to thousands, after all. For those following the shenanigans of the Texas Board of Education this week the discussions ended and the vote was made. The 7 Evangelical Creationists got their way in revising American History more to their liking in a 10 to 5 vote, not only party lines but RACIAL LINES, which was more at play than anything else, i.e., codeword "multiculturalism." Though the final vote will not come until May, there is no reason to believe anything will change.

The biggest news of the week was that they managed to remove Thomas Jefferson though they could not remove him from the list of Presidents. After all, he coined the phrase "SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE!" Can't have that down here in the the top Christian Execution chamber of America! Jesus loves a good execution. Though he attended only that one...

So The New Deal, Mexicans, Civil Rights, Abe Lincoln, unions and the ACLU are OUT! Jefferson Davis, Phyllis Schlafly, the NRA, the Contract with American, the Heritage Foundation and of course Jesus are IN.

It goes without saying that concerns for potential people outweigh concerns for the real thing. That kind of insane crap is the basis of most religion. But you cannot say doing what invisible sky creatures tell one to do is insane. In fact it would be insane for anyone in politics or the media to even think such a thing, yet alone say such a thing. In the new segment, HOLY SHIT, the Daily Show comes back after a few years to take shots at religious silliness. Stephen Colbert began the original segment in 2003 with "This Week in God" with the GOD BUTTON attached to the GOD MACHINE. When Colbert left the show Rob Corddry took over the segment with Samantha Bee filling in after he left until it ended in 2007. This being Jesusland it was deemed problematic for the show at the time and best left alone. I wonder what brought it back?  Could be Texas Taliban down here in Dumbutt is getting all that national press lately for rewriting history that it may be the reason.

The Itawamba County school district’s policy requires prom dates be of the opposite sex. The American Civil Liberties Union of Mississippi had given the district until Wednesday to change that policy and allow Constance McMillen, 18, to escort her girlfriend, who is also a student, to the April dance. Last year's Texas public school enrollment included 2.3 million Hispanic, 1.6 million white and 671,871 African- American children. 

Dumbutt, Texas - Over the past three days the Texas Board of Education has been discussing what we will teaching Texas Children by rewriting Texas history and social science textbooks. As expected the 7 Taliban members of the board are winning the battle. So much so that all but one of the Democratic members of the 15 member board walked out in protest. The issues are about replacing terms like SOCIAL JUSTICE with FREE MARKETS, with removing references to gays and unions and their struggles, and putting in names like Phyllis Schlafly, Jerry Falwell, The Heritage Foundation and so on. But mostly it is about Republican racism to remove whatever they can regarding Hispanics and African Americans in their historic struggles. It is clearly the White Republican members against the Black and Hispanic members. Though there are presently 7 white Christian creationist Fundamentalists on the Board, they usually get an extra 2 votes from the remaining white conservative Republicans to get their way. Their views on sexual reality can be summed up in this exchange:

The board also rejected experts who recommended a sociology standard for high school students to "differentiate between sex and gender as social constructs and determine how gender and socialization interact." The focus would shift to "transgender, transvestites and who knows what else," predicted Barbara Cargill, R-The Woodland, calling the proposed standard "totally inappropriate."
"Talking about your heterosexual experiences" is inappropriate, added Terri Leo, R-Spring.

Their views on race and culture can summed by this.

Republicans then got their way, including removing hiphop as an example of a "significant cultural movement" in American society for high school history. Country music survived. 

But the coup de grace, the face of these very white ugly Texas Christians is best understood in the following exchange. 

Mavis Knight, D-Dallas, was unable to attract any Republican support for her motion to teach students that government is not supposed to favor any religion. Knight's proposed amendment: "Examine the reasons the Founding Fathers protected religious freedom in America by barring government from protecting or disfavoring any particular religion over all others," was defeated.

Board member Cynthia Dunbar, R-Richmond, a Liberty College law professor, called Knight's proposal inaccurate. "We don't want our religious history to be drawn from a viewpoint that is not historically accurate," Dunbar said.

The question arises as to what can be done about this level of ignorance and intolerance? Which sadly they wish to further embed into our educational system. Walking down the street here talking to my fellow voters, the answer is obvious, NOTHING CAN BE DONE. Ignorance, Intolerance and of course the guns are what we in Dumbutt, Texas are most proud of. Glen Beck and his enchanted blackboard have revealed a nefarious scheme, one which elevates the looniest of conspiracy theorists to near philosophers by comparison. Rev. Jim Wallis who hopes to reason with Beck, explains how Beck has found the "code words" - namely, social justice and economic justice, which - if you follow along Beck's path, lead you straight into the arms of a communist, Marxist plot, by - you guessed it, President Barack Obama! In fact, he told church-goers to "Run if they hear those words!" Oddly, Rev. Wallis had quite a revealing experience when he physically removed those phrases from the Bible.

REALITY CHECK - Conservatives like to say that the success of America - premised on their false interpretation of Tocqueville’s Democracy in America - was because of Christian values disseminated through local Protestant churches.

The fact of the matter is quite different, our success was due to stealing the most bountiful temperate untouched agricultural and mineral rich area in the world from the indigenous people living there, later stealing a third more of it from the Mexicans, building a good share of it on slave labor and planning it all from whiskey filled taverns. 

What is at stake here is the printing of 5 million text books in the social sciences that will not change until 2020. That much money means publishers will make deals with many other states on the Texas version of history.

More than half of Texas 1st Graders are Hispanic and that majority will soon apply to other grades. Hispanic students also have the highest dropout rate in Texas schools. English Only and removing the names of successful Hispanics in History is a purposeful act to make matters worse.

School board member nutcake Dentist Don McLelroy - who strongly believes that his ancestors here in Texas were hunting dinosaurs a few thousand years ago - lost his primary to less of a nutcake Republican. But this being Texas one never knows how that may turn out. What if this new person sees an image of Christ down the barrel of his Smith and Wesson? That is a Texas trait you know, constantly looking down the barrels of our guns to see if they are loaded...

The other loud creationist on the "School Board 7" is Cynthia Dunbar. She is moving on to yet to be announced greener Right-wing pastures (oops, I suppose that should read "darker" Right-wing pastures). She has given her seat over to her handpicked choice of another Republican.

Though this may change the dynamics of the board come next year with them being reduced to the School Board 6 (of fifteen), it does nothing for the vote coming in a few weeks. Both McLeroy and Dunbar have said they intend to get their Christian licks in before they are replaced.

What these Christians are mostly about is removing Hispanics, Blacks, Indians and Unions from our text books, Also replacing positive references to other religions, cultures and political systems with references to Phyllis Schlafly, the Heritage Foundation, Jerry Falwell and of course Jesus.

A couple of the most contentious changes this gang of nutcakes is trying to pass is removing Ralph Nader and Ross Perot and substitute them for Confederate War General Stonewall Jackson and to put passages written by Jefferson Davis on equal footing with Abraham Lincoln. What I find enjoyable about this is that I find myself laughing at myself. Boy is this a case of a point well taken into the wrong fight!  Reminds me off Christopher Hitchens (it is "Christopher" not "Chris" and woe be unto those who make that mistake) whose greatest enemies of mankind were Princess Diana and Mother Theresa (followed by the mad murdering rapist President Bill Clinton.)

That is yet another case where I find that I can agree with much of what that uppity snot nosed drunken prick has to say, but still understand only too well what a disgusting slug of a human being he is. But... He hid Salmon Rushdie in his London Apartment for a year so he has a free ride to say or do anything he pleases.

This is a 4 year old thrown out of pre school for God Sake! Gosh... Not only for the intolerant sexual bigotry endemic to the Catholic Church, but the unconscionable belief that children must suffer the sins of their parents! Anathema to the very core of what this nation stands for. It is more than disgusting on all levels. Though on the good side this is one less child for these dirty old men to get their filthy hands on.

Be clear that the responsibility for this is NOT on the back of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic School where the staff spoke up against the ruling, but upon the Denver Archdiocese and its trail of shit leading to the Vatican in Rome.

The Denver Archdiocese has it written down:

"No person shall be admitted as a student in any Catholic school unless that person and his/her parent(s) subscribe to the school's philosophy and agree to abide by the educational policies and regulations of the school and Archdiocese."

They also contend the child will suffer "confusion" if allowed to attend their school. Confusion my ass, this is as clear as can be to all concerned, especially to the child as it grows up.

There is no law against these creepy crawlers purposefully hurting not only a 4 year old child, but the parents as well. Tax the Church. 51% across the board. TODAY! NOW! End the recession! 

You know I am often asked to slow down on my religious angst. That it is paramount in helping the majority witted unattractive Americans fight off loneliness, find acceptance with others like them and that they mean well. There is something to that of course, but religion does cause great harm. I am also told that was in the old days, that  things are different now. There is something to that too, but...

Put all the horror of the Islamic theocracies aside to find there is an even greater harm done upon humanity by this specific Dark Age religion.

Both the present Bad Pope and the previous Good Pope SHOUTED to the continent of Africa that they should not use condoms. In this case some in her 8th grade class at West Lake Middle school in Apex, North Carolina left a Bible and a large Xmas card featuring Jesus on her desk because they claimed, she hated Jesus.

Ms Hussain went on her FACEBOOK page and complained calling it a possible Hate Crime. It then got worse, the students began reading out load from their Bibles and singing JESUS LOVES ME during class, we know how it goes down here, let me tell you! Comments upon her facebook made by others called these ignorant Southern Rednecks - are you ready for this? Ignorant Southern Rednecks!

Melissa is suspended with pay as the ignorant Southern Rednecks of Apex, North Carolina try to get her head on a platter and back to Iran or New England where she belongs. Which they will undoubtedly manage to do, for as you know neither  politicians nor the main stream media are ALLOWED to disparage God or Jesus without paying a heavy price.
