I must say I was surprised by the quick conviction of this child raping dirtball down here especially dumbutt West Texas. Also noteworthy is the surname "Jessop" that so many of the FLDS adherents are named makes one wonder if they are all related, adding incest to this ugly package of religious insanity.  

What I found most interesting in this case - the first of 12 such cases coming up - was that the 15 year old girl Ray was screwing (one of his nine spiritual wives) was given to him after his brother was done screwing her the year before when she was 14.

Of course unlike Roman Polanski these creepy crawlers used a WHOLE JESUS rather than HALF A QUAALUDE to have their way with these little girls. Bring unto me the little children...

Called the "Everything But Marriage Act" Washington Governor Christine Gregoire signed a state law giving gay couples the same civil and legal rights as heterosexual couples in yet another case concerning the horror of fairness.

Within seconds a group of REPUBLICAN bigots from Protect Marriage Washington called for a referendum to do what THESE KIND OF PEOPLE have always done, try to deny the legal, civil and human rights of people UNLIKE themselves.

What is most worthy of note here is not that Ducks are Gay, but the ad this group of lying Republican bigots shoved out in response.

You know... Why don't progressives dress up as Republican Nitwits (all you need is a drab suit, a red tie, some flag pins and an ugly babe in a mu-mu) and take undercover cameras into groups like Protect Marriage Washington to get video of just how horrible and stupid THESE KIND OF PEOPLE are?

Well I suppose it's because we already knows what KIND OF PEOPLE THEY ARE and there's just  nothing to be done about it.

I suppose a bit of Phillys Schlafly history is in order for the younguns. Phyllis Schlafly became famous in the early 1970's as the leader in the fight against Feminism and the Constitutional Amendment to give women equal rights under the law. Schlafly would have none of it and her cry of STOP THE ERA! was heard round the world! Much like the MLK speech though her dream was a nation of barefoot women doing what they are told to do by their betters. Schlafly is indeed the person most responsible for the ERA never being ratified.

Schlafly began the Eagle Forum in 1972 which pushed a far right-wing agenda of religious intolerance, creationism, and her life long fight against people of color, which goes under the code name "multiculturalism". Schlafly and her organizations have been most active in matters of education, seeking not only to dismantle the Department of Education, advocating forced Christian prayer in school, putting creationism in public school science classes, taking Christian children out of public schools and into home schooling, tax funded vouchers for students to go to fundamentalist religious schools also to destroy the very concept of public education. All in all, the Schlafly's are not much different that the Taliban.

I remember doing an article about her in the early 1990's when she came out against  Geography of all things! She wanted it banned from public schools because it taught our American children about lesser places, which had lesser religions and lesser people. She is THAT KIND of a person.

Her son Andrew Schlafly founded Conservapedia in 2006. Though he has a large screw going through this head, it did not evolve there, much to the pain of Mother Phyllis, he was born with it.

When one first comes across Conservapedia one may think they have fallen into the ONION. Or perhaps a Monty Python sketch, but no, it is the real thing. It seems to be mostly about denying evolution, but it does follow in the shitprints of Fox News in that it is entirely beyond the pale of biased, unbalanced, silly, incredible, dishonest right-wing propaganda sold as the only credible source of THE TRUTH in America today! It's true! The Conservative Bible Project is in the process of revamping the new testament first, claiming to "correct errors in conveying biblical meaning." The entire book is full of liberal bias according to the group led by son of *Phylis Schlafly's son Andrew. There is not enough fire and brimstone for their liking either.

*Phylis Schlafly is known as a vocal and leading opponent of the Equal Rights Amendment. In my opinion, the smell of fire and brimstone accompanies her wherever she goes. She very nearly kept the ERA from passing - preaching that women belonged in the home, though she rarely was with her campaigning and numerous lectures and conservative organizations. Down here in Dumbutt our Texas State Board of Education has hired some "experts" to help rewrite our history and social studies text books which we and many other states will be using for the next 10 years. Two of the six "experts" are constructionist Evangelical Ministers who believe there is  no separation of church and state and we should live under a system of Biblical Law rather than the Constitution. Really!

At the top of their list is removing things they don't like from history. Most loudly trying to rid history of uppity Mexicans, African Americans and unions. And then add more Columbus, Pilgrims and Puritans who founded this Christian Nation on Christian values!

I totally agree with the that part of it!

More Columbus! Big long chapters on how Columbus brought the Spanish Inquisition to the new world - which had been recently installed by Ferdinand and Isabella in 1486. His plans to enslave what he considered the less than human Indians to mine gold and carry it to his ships. An to then profit from selling Indians to European slave markets. I could help by writing a few dozen chapters on that.

More about the Pilgrims and the Puritans! New England controlled wholly by protestant Biblical law. Where heretics being punished with torture and execution for not going to church, and hanging witches in Salem. I want to see 25 chapters just on that alone!

And as the history courses progress through the year, chapters on Sister Aimee McPherson, Father Caughlin, Jim Jones, Jim and Tammy Bakker and not to forget Jimmy Swaggart choking the Bishop in sleazy motel rooms with $20 ho's. A long fun chapter on that one please.
