Christine ODonnell: Unemployment extention tragic as Pearl Harbor

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

Ms O’Donnell’s grasp of the issues aside, her condemnation of the extension of unemployment benefits as being equal in tragedy to the bombing of Pearl Harbor
and the loss of Elizabeth Edwards must have Americans across the country feeling quite badly about cashing those checks. I mean really, it’s never a happy time to be unemployed, but to be condemned as responsible for a tragedy on the same level was the 2nd worst in American History. Short pause to consider the source.

Christine O’Donnell will never be in the position of drawing an unemployment check, nope, never! You see, there is some silly requirement to the effect that one has to have actually ‘worked’ and paid in – something which escapes many Republicans – in order to draw the checks.

Having whizzed through campaign donations without sharing a dime with staffers, or paying bills, Ms O’Donnell finds herself in another financial bind but not without resources. She is following in the footsteps of successful chillbilly grifter Sarah Palin who has done quite well with ‘Sarah PAC." Yep, just like the old song "Money for nothin’ and your wardrobe for free."

So cheer up! You can cash that check, and immediately donate a chunk to ‘Christine PAC’ – or gain more satisfaction by simply sending her an illegible check written on paper you’ve used wisely.
