Conan: Hasselbeck’s Criticism of Obama Prompts 28th Amendment for Reality Show Losers
on September 29, 2012 at 5:00 am
Tuesday night Conan took umbrage with Elizabeth Hasselbeck’s strident questioning of the President when the POTUS guested on The View recently. Just between us, she ruined everyone’s good time in a most unpleasant way, but that isn’t why Conan addressed the issue again. Conan wanted to clarify that his problem with Hasselbeck isn’t partisan, he is a registered Anarchist. He does take issue with the road Hasselbeck took to stardom on the View – stardom which put her in a place to harangue the President of the United States.
In proposing the 28th Amendment to the Constitution, Conan will assure that no more ‘losers’ like Hasselbeck will be in this position again. Only the cream of the reality show crop will be allowed to grill the President in such strident tones, and with such questionable backgrounds.

Rack Jite Quotes
Yes Ms. ‘Cat,
I am a fount of useless & obscure knowledge. No one cares about the Bull Moose. It was 100 years ago. It means nothing today. A butt of jokes.
I would, of course, give a personal information exception to any AMA hour. Candidates & Presidents are allowed their personal space. Questions about Gov. Romney’s sleeping clothing or President Clinton’s underwear need to be treated with the contempt the question deserves. Classified information should remain so too. But yes, how much time would an Ask Me Anything hour take up?
Why can’t they do more of them?
Gee Ms. ‘Cat,
I disagree with just about everything Conan said.
First the Bull Moose party is important as it split off the Progressive Republicans from the traditional party. The Republican party became more monolithically pro-big business. This becomes important in the 1920s & then during the Depression.
Next, I believe that every American has the right to ask the President (or Candidate) any policy question. President Obama just recently held an on-line Ask Me Anything hour. This is a good idea.
I learned something from this! I have to admit my ignorance concerning the Bull Moose Party. I assumed it was just another of Conan’s tongue-in-cheek creations; as I trust his other comments were. You’re right of course. Often it seems that candidates are far too isolated from ‘real’ cross-sections of people. Along with the usual debates, it would be a very good idea to see televised ‘ask me anything’ hours, rather than the set-up casual chit chat that passes for them. The day Romney stopped at a diner and joked about pink slips comes to mind. More exposure could only help the democratic process (and party?) ; ) Thanks again for this enlightening and interesting history of the Republican Party db!
