The Greater Travelers Rest Baptist Choir welcomes Conan into their midst with varied amounts of enthusiasm. Those with a skeptical eye are rewarded when Conan’s voice – enhanced by a natural vibrato (or wheat allergy) joins with them in song. Things go horribly awry when Conan somehow manages to usurp the choir director with hilarious results, and suggestions for ‘movement’ to enhance the music. The choir members humor the tall, gangly Irish Catholic, which is assuredly a test of their patience and tolerance.
Through it all, the magnificent voices carry through. Those who feel that Conan’s actions are sacrilegious, will feel vindicated and lifted when the choir (sans Conan) appears in Conan’s studio in full voice…Truly worth seeing and hearing.
