Bob Woodward playing the victim in White House email threat. What a wussy. Over the years this website has generated more real threats than Woodward’s imagined threats. In context it is more than clear that the email from Gene Sperling meant Woodward would regret the accusation because he would be proven wrong, NOT that he would regret the accusation as a threat to him personally or to access.
“But I do truly believe you should rethink your comment about saying saying that Potus asking for revenues is moving the goal post. I know you may not believe this, but as a friend, I think you will regret staking out that claim,” Sperling wrote in email.
Today on Morning Joe David Axelrod and Bob Woodward went at each other on this. One thing I can say in Woodward’s defense, is unkike Republicans he has walked it back a bit rather than doubling down on it. Woodward on White House email: ‘I never said it was a threat’
