Daily Show Kristen Schaal explains women’s wage dispartiy

Kristen Schaal women equal pay

So we learned that in 1963 President Kennedy signed the Equal Pay Act, enforced by the EOCC, most recently again by the Lily Ledbetter Law and still women get only 78 cents on the dollar men get, so what gives.

Men will be flying cars on Mars before women get equal pay with men on Earth.

Now wait a minute… The military pays men and women the same. It seems all federal employees are paid the same no matter their gender. I hear even federal contractors must do the same.

Hmmm…. See what regulations and an out of control federal government can do? If it were not for big government women would still not be allowed to vote, to own property, or complain about having the crap beat out of them. Or slavery, Jim Crow, work safety or having bazookas for that matter. That is of course the process behind SMALL GOVERNMENT and THE CONSTITUTION, that federally – mostly due to the 14 amendment [which is not actually part of the actual constitution you hear these Republicans always yammering about] – we are all to be treated equally.

Boy do they hate that, because as you well know, Republicans believe pigs are more equal than women, African Americans, Mexicans, Indians, foreigners, Muslims, gays, lesbians, pregnant women and so on.

States rights taday, states rights tamarra, states rights foevea!

You will be happy to learn that Texas has passed the open carry on campus law!  Making keg parties just that much more fun. But there is another way of looking at this open carry business. When people have sidearms on their hips or an assault rifle at the ready, both bad guys and police know who to shoot first.

A gun is a death machine, that is all it is, and for those who base their personal and political lives around guns is a celebration of violence which only adds to our over the top American culture of violence. Put the guns down and plant a garden. For as a life long hunter I can tell you that the meat you buy at the store tastes better and costs less than what you shoot in the woods.
