Daily Show Larry Wilmore, President Obama is not a Magic Negro

President Obama turned out not to the Magic Negro white people expected. But he did make that 3 pointer and has a nice dog that does not bite reporters as the last administration canine corp was famous for!

This contains a memorable line from Larry Wilmore after running a few clips of the Fox News gang going postal on Obama.

"They will be sorry if they ever find the capacity for shame."

I was thinking back over the past 50 years to those any periods of time I felt relatively good about politics in America.

November 1960 to November 1963 – A new hope of a young attractive Democrat shot down before we found what he could accomplish.

August 1974 to November 1980 – Richard Nixon and all that Sixties baggage or war, and riots, police brutality, political black listing, paranoia, lies and a criminal White house was replaced by 6 years of mostly milk toast, including the music. Multimedia 1974

November 1992 to November 1994 –  A new and younger generation of Bill and Hillary Clinton as we sang along with "Don’t stop thinking about tomorrow…" Was soon over when Republicans – due mostly to the failure of health care reform (ring a bell) – won 54 seats in the House of Representatives to take a 26 vote advantage to take The House after 40 years of Democratic control. They also won the Senate. The new Republican leadership in the House was held by three reactionary Right-wing Southern radicals; Newt Gingrich, Dick Armey and Tom Delay. [This horror show really began a year earlier when the Republicans – with the help of Harry and Louise – destroyed health care reform, ring a bell anyone]

November 1995 to January 1996 – 3 months enjoying Bill Clinton’s comeback to win the Presidency before we found out that the Senate had been handed over to another Southern reactionary right-wing radical and racist, Trent Lott.

2am November 8th 2000 to 3am November 8th 2000 – For an hour that night Al Gore – with a final tally of half a million more votes than George Bush – was declared winner and President Elect.

June 4th 2008 to August 4th 2009 – After Hillary conceded the primaries to Barak Obama their was a real new hope in America. Most of us came together, surmounting much of our racist nature in the hope of a new and more equitable America. It lasted until the media gave the late Summer of 2009 over to Town Hall meetings filled with radical Republicans spewing out so much anger and hatred it became news. Which then lead to the Birthers, the Tea Parties and the loss of Ted Kennedy’s senate seat to a clone of Glenn Beck.

Adding up the political good times, Democrats have had 10 years of political contentment compared to 40 years for Republicans. 4 to 1. 20%. Not bad in a nation full of nitwits!
