This cartoon is too soft. You know even for atheists like myself, there is that warmth of romanticism evolved in religious faith that these people have stolen from us. The kindness, compassion, love and forgiveness that is suppose to define Christ and Christianity has been turned on it’s head by the likes of INTOLERANT BIGOTS like Phil Robertson, Bobby Jindal, Sarah Palin, Fox News and AM radio. They are the cause of tens of millions of Americans turning away from God. It is the cause of the rapidly growing movement of so many becoming agnostic, atheist and NONES.
They have corrupted Christianity and bastardized Jesus Christ in their own ugly image of guns, blood, killing, bigotry, racism, ignorance, intolerance and above all, the politics of giving a kick in the head to the least of us. Using Jesus Christ in that manner is beyond disgusting.
Recently a powerful voice has come to address that crap. The response from Fox News, talk radio, Sarah Palin and the Christian Right is loud and clear, Pope Francis is a socialist, a communist, an unAmerican anti-Capitalist and a Marxist.
Put a turban or a burka on these intolerant nitwits and send them off to the Middle East where they belong to live with their own kind. I hear the sand, the rubble and the explosions are nice this time of year.
