Duck Dynasty Phil Robertson likes that young snatch

“You got to marry these girls when they are about 15 or 16. They’ll pick your ducks. Good marrying women are hard to find, mainly because these boys are waiting until they get to be about 20 years old before they marry ’em. Look, you wait until they get to be 20 years old, the only picking that’s going to take place is your pocket.

What I like best in the horror of men waiting until they are 20 to get married. Wow…

The conservative defense of our present spokesman of Middle American Christianity, racism, homophobia, sexism, bigotry and advocate for statutory rape is that he is joking. If that be true then Phil Robertson’s life is a joke. Which it does seem to be.

18 year old Phil Robertson began dating his present wife Kay when she was 14, they married in 1966 when she became 16, already an old woman in Southern Christian culture.

BTW, their first son Alan Robertson, a beardless preacher, flat out refuses to say when he was born. I suppose that is because if Kay became pregnant before Phil married her, that would be statutory rape which would put Phil in prison for the rest of his life. There are thousands in jail for less.

So where’s the birth certificate? What was the date of the Wedding?

And Fox News, talk radio, Sarah Palin, Mike Huckabee, Bobby Jindal and the GOP all dig in as the story of our most famous Christian Middle America role model unfolds.

Be sure to understand this guy is in the media crosshairs, and this kind of stuff I am sure will be piling up. Let’s hear more about the bar he owned causing a temporary estrangement from his wife Kay?

Now they are selling guns, so I guess Rack will stop complaining about them. ;)

Alan Robertson’s birth year is not a secret (1965). He was conceived when Kay was at most 15, and Phil 4 years older than her. A quick search finds that the present-day penalty for that age combination in Louisiana is up to 10 years (not life). Whether the age of consent was the same in the 1960s, I leave it up to the reader to look up. The present day statute of limitations is 30 years after the victim reaches 18, but an article I read indicated that Louisiana greatly extended that number in the 1990s. So, in the 1960s, the statute of limitations was probably much less than 30. Also, marriage is typically a legal defense against such a charge, so it’s quite likely that even within the span of the statute of limitations, once Phil and Kay married, he wouldn’t be prosecuted.

Phil Robertson does not claim that he was a “man of god” at that age. In fact, part of his narrative about his “come to Jesus” moment was his adultery, drunkenness, and other, unspecified “sins”, which he committed after he had at least two children. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FjqccYmx13w

Thanx for that. The very definition of DIRTBALL. Or to be more politically correct what a fine example of the Republican Base.

I can hear Dueling Banjos in the background
Well, Americans have been searching for a new role model, and I guess Phil Robertson fits the bill better than anyone.

This guy is Sarah Palin on steroids. He’s tied the BIBLE, George Washington and statutory rape together in one big phony misogynist package. What a morale booster for the leaderless teabaggers, who’re orchestrating a banjo and kazoo version of ‘Hail to the Chief’ – and may well have a chance to use it.
Canada has never looked so appealing – and it has always been lovely.

      Happy New Year Ms. ‘Cat.

      Don’t “dis” the kazoo band.

I’ll again ask why you’re surprised by Robertson’s beliefs/activities? Wasn’t he hired to be exactly what he purports to be?

It strikes me that A&E is the big loser here. They attempted to discipline an employee for offensive public statements but were forced to back down. They’ve alienated the Robertsons & their followers. They’ve alienated those who objected to the Robertson’s statements in the first place. They look weak & vulnerable to the other Producers of their programming.

Happy New Year db! I like kazoo bands myself. I just couldn’t think of anything else at the moment. You’re right A&E should have kept quiet from the first, or stood their course once they publicly dismissed him. I think my gripe may be with A&E, as you’ve pointed out, they’ve not only alienated his followers, the group is stronger than ever, and I will be surprised if Robertson does NOT run for a political office this time around…What a ticket, Roberts and Palin. I won’t be able to sleep without a night light for years. ; )
