Family Guy: Lois Learns to Win Undecided Voters

Family Guy: Lois Learns to Win Undecided Voters Over with Hot-button Issues

In this clip from Seth McFarlane’s animated adult sitcom ‘Family Guy,’  Lois challenges Mayor West, and  learns the sad truth about undecided voters and the game of politics.  Lois is the person you’d want for Mayor of your town. She’s not a political animal; but she is  a concerned citizen who sincerely wants to change things for the better.

Lois has come to her first debate prepared to discuss the issues and offer real, viable solutions to the problems that plague her city. She is dismayed to see the Mayor (played by Adam West) evading the issues, yet winning the crowd over with shameless pandering. We even hear the familiar line “I’d like to have a beer with that guy, I’m voting for him!” How many times have you heard that one?

Brian, the politically savvy and articulate dog, informs her; “Undecided voters are the biggest idiots on the planet,” and gives her valuable advice. If Lois wants to get elected, she must forget her substantive answers, and stick with short, hot-button issues to answer questions.. This method  works on some cable ‘news’ shows as well .  If this debate feels like deja vu it’s no coincidence…It only looks like a cartoon!
