The Republican menage a trio, Texas Terry Lowry vs Judge Ed Emmett vs the Tea Baggers

This rather hidden and innocuous story of local Houston politics this morning caught my eye. It realizes something I had not thought out properly. Their are not two entities pulling the GOP apart, but three. Split among local GOPs spills over into Facebook

In this case the light shines upon a Fcebook argument between Religious Right activist and talk show host Terry Lowry and Republican County Judge Ed Emmett. Emmett became very popular down here for putting politics aside in dealing with Hurricane Ike. He was the face of reason Houston looked to on television during the greatest natural disaster in our history.

Terry Lowery wants Republicans to enact litmus tests regarding how much they hate and despise abortion and homos. If they do not express enough hatred for either, then they should not be allowed to run for office in Texas as Republicans. Judge Emmett disagrees, open tent and all that.

So there we have an example of the old schism in the GOP, the social conservatives versus the moderate Republicans whose only real concern is keeping their money away from the government.

But lo and behold comes a third rail in this ugly stew of dark hearted selfish intolerance and bigotry, the Tea Baggers who don't much care about abortion, homos, or rich county club bankers. They are an aging version of the Ron Paul/Ayn Rand Looneytarian faction that were so loud on the Internet during the last election.

The Tea Party movement is all about ideology, based primarily upon their confusion over the constitution, their poorly hidden bigotry concerning States Rights Forever, and an overwhelming personal hatred of Barack Obama who happens to be a bit off color. It's all about an evil big government which has no right to tax them for the common good. The common good is socialism, pure and simple.

This menage a trio gives an even greater chance of a third party emerging before November which there could be no better news for Democrats!

The GOP needs a new slogan to tie these three groups together, and I just happen to know that that is. Something they can all agree on in full, but please... Shhhhh Don't say anything.

Crazy Governor Rick Perry who stood last April 15th, on the first national Tea Party sponsored by Fox News Glenn Beck talked seriously about secession. Yesterday 51% of Texas Republicans tuned in with their votes. Crazy Tea Party Libertarian Birther and 911 Conspiracy nutjob Debra Medina won another 18% of the Republican vote. While once reasonable Republican Senator Kay Bailey Hutchinson went from 20 points ahead to 20 points behind no matter she did spread her legs for the Texas Tea Baggers.

Less than a year ago, U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison was the most popular elected official in Texas and the oddson favorite to be the next governor of Texas. Some polls showed her leading the incumbent, Rick Perry, by more than 20 points.

What Hutchison didn’t realize this time a year ago was that her fate may well have been sealed by Tax Day, April 15, 2009, when Perry spoke at tea party rallies in Houston, Dallas and Austin and suggested — merely suggested — that Texas might have reason to secede from the union. He never mentioned the word “secession,” but there was no mistaking his drift.

Signaling his sympathy with the wave of anti-Washington, anti-Obama animus sweeping Texas and the country — animus fueled by the tea partiers — Perry effectively tagged his fellow Republican as a creature of Washington after her 16 years in the Senate. She never recovered from the anti-Washington barrage. And she knew it. Hutchison didn’t realize how strong the anti-Washington sentiment was

So now it's a battle between Republican Rick Perry and Democratic Mayor of Houston Bill White. I wonder how that will go here in Dumbutt? Gosh...

Bad Hair Day for Two East Texas Church Arsonists

19 year old Jason Robert Bourque and 21 year old Daniel George McAllister are in jail with a $10 million apiece bond for burning down a church in East Texas. It is not yet known if they are responsible for the other 9 church burnings in the area nor does their seem to be a motive as the churches were both White and Black and different denominations of Texas evangelical protestant craziness.

If you were unawares, the man behind the Tea Party movement, Texan Dick Armey and his Freedom Works is most famous for when he was House Majority leader calling Representative Barney Frank, "Barney Fag". Just to get the taste of Tea Bagging into your face if you will. Secondarily his celebrity was because he voted against HEAD START every time it came to a vote, often he was the only such vote in the world. Helping kids at risk is way WAY way WAY down on Dick's to do list. Top of the list of course is to make sure those with them most don't have to pay taxes.

So here in Texas one cannot get away from this image which I have seen literally hundreds of times already on tv. There can be now better political ad in Texas than this. Joe Horn, NRA, Racism and non violence

A little more than two years ago Joe Horn - who lives just up the road from me a piece - shot and killed a couple suspected burglars running away from his neighbor's home. It was a bright sunny day, there is a record of his 911 call and the facts are clear as a police officer witnessed it all. Texas Hero Joe Horn Shoots 2 Unarmed Black Men in the Back

Horn shot two unarmed black men in the back with a 12 gauge shotgun from 10 feet away. Harris County (Houston) refuses to release the autopsy of the suspect shot twice, once in the back of the neck. Seems the man had his head blown off his body, which could have caused the Grand Jury to indict Horn rather than give him a "no bill" and hero status as they did.

This story is old, but it keeps my attention because comments to these Joe Horn articles keep coming in and I receive email alerts. As one can see, they are overwhelming about the joy so many take in the bloody physical suffering of these men. Note they were not only back but also Hispanic. You can be sure these kind of people who get erections over such carnage never bother to to think of the suffering of these men's friends and families, or the suffering of anyone for that matter, it is the nature of the Beast.

The defense these KIND OF PEOPLE offer as defining Horn as a Hero deserving of parades in his honor, are that it is two less leeches "on welfare and food stamps" who are no longer a drag on our society. And then deny it has anything to to with race. That lie that so permeates our society for we all know damn well that had the men been white Horn would not have shot them. ABSOLUTELY WE KNOW THAT! Both sides KNOW THAT. But one side must like to redeem their sorry nature.

Here is a picture a few days after the fact when hundreds of Harley owners showed up to rev up their engines to drown out a press conference called by local black activists.

Joe Horn did not attend any of the "JOE HORN THE HERO" parades these KIND OF PEOPLE planned around Houston in the following weeks. In fact this so destroyed Horn's life, he has moved away and is hiding out sorry as Hell he got himself into this mess.

Neither is this overt racism called what it is by the mainstream media who do not want a national discussion on race. After all, tens of millions of racists buy lots of Ford Pickup trucks, GEICO insurance and Budweiser. [Oh, and who relate very well to a very white woman, in a very white uniform, in a very white room, with very white furniture, a Hog in her garage and a beehive haircut making her seem she just walked off stage with the B-52's]

Oops, I lost hold of the issue here which was not intended to be racism. But you know, it keeps popping up in so many issues, especially when White-wing tax money is involved. It matters not whether this joy of bloodletting is due to race or poverty, it is disgusting no matter. Really really disgusting.

As the years have passed I find the issues that matter most to me have narrowed to those of war, executions, guns and pit bulls. It is not so much pacifism as it is non violence. After all, violence is the cause of most man made misery upon this Earth. It is best to deter it rather than promote it.

I have my spiritual side which rises up in anger when I find our national brand of Christianity does not step up to the plate in these matters, but rather puts the pedal to the metal. Its disgusting. Really really disgusting. American Christianity pages at Kick!

Americans differ from the rest of the civilized world as our point of view is so locked into our own wingtips, our Adidas, our Tony Llamas and above all our combat boots.

More than any nation - other than the Muslim theocracies - Americans take joy in the violent suffering of others, often ecstatic joy, whether at the point their guns, in our execution chambers, our preemptive wars and even torture which about half of us believe a good idea, the Republican half. The Gunloons on Kick!

Our love for Pit bulls, Rottweiler's and Hummers also enter into this. The macho fun taken in buying a Hummer to show the world that you could care less about that world yet anyone in it.

The enjoyment Americans take in so much violence sets us apart from not only the civilized world but most of the third world as well. We are the Barbarians at their Gate.

The bottom line here is that enjoying the violence suffered by others we don't like, makes enjoying the non violent suffering of others an altruistic step up! So much for health care reform...

Sexism and Misogyny at Houston Fire Station 54

Not long ago female firefighters Jane Draycott and Paula Keyes complained to the Houston Fire Chief that they were being sexually harassed by male co workers at Fire House 54. After the complaint fireman at station 54 - wanting to show how absurd the accusations were - placed hangman nooses and scrawled racial epitaphs on the walls of their fire station sleeping quarters.

Last week Draycott returned to work to what was suppose to be a session of contrition, but turned out to be 4 hours of in your face personal attacks by the station chief and the coworkers of station 54. The Houston fire chief was present and finally stopped the show, after 4 hours of it! Draycott walked out and returned to paid leave and her lawyers. The Ten Reasons Capital Punishment is wrong:

1) There is no greater form of state intrusion into individual liberty than execution.

2) Mistakenly executing someone cannot be rectified.

3) Who we choose to execute is more often decided by emotion, race and economics than by law.

4) Execution has repeatedly been shown not to be a deterrent to capital crimes.

5) Solving problems through killing is the wrong message to send our children.

6) Capital crooks won’t be putting their hands up as much causing a rise in the amount of dead police.

7) When the government kills people it makes us all party to murder.

8) We end up substituting one set of family victims for another.

9) Compassion and mercy are better indicators of civilization than are violence and vengeance.

10) If we took that eye for an eye crap seriously, we would all be blind and toothless in no time.

Just the other day here in Dumbutt a statistical computer model from University of Texas Huntsville declared that Texas executions saved 60 lives last year! Study says Texas death penalty a homicide deterrent

A couple things:

University of Texas Huntsville is the central educational college for police and criminal Justice.

University of Texas Huntsville is located in Huntsville, Texas which is the execution capital of the civilized world.

University of Texas Huntsville is located in the old confederacy and Bible belt where capital punishment is a proudly enjoyable process.

The study MUST assume that potential killers read the Houston Chronicle daily to know that executions have taken place so they can be deterred. BTW, most are gangs of blacks and Hispanics and the hot headed in trailer parks who don't read a damn thing other than the backs of cereal and ammo boxes.

And the real kicker!

The study uses computer models which Republicans loudly and unanimously refuse to accept as anything other than liberal tripe. We know this absolutely for their spittle laced screams about climate change and the census.

I have a thing about political correctness. I believe - strike that - I know that political correctness has been the primary driving force for the rise of America's conservative hegemony over the past generation. It is what drives the less educated working class to stand tall against their own self interest to vote for rich Bankers who charge them 35% interest and want them either to shoot themselves out of existence or spend their lives in jail. The PC chapter at Kick!

So with that said no apologies to the less than smart reading this.

Conservative New York Times columnist David Brooks this week wrote an interesting column explaining that our political strife is not derived from left/right, red/blue or rural/urban but educated versus uneducated. The Tea Party Teens.

Republican elitist Brooks makes a very good case for this with his examples of being on opposite sides regarding abortion, global warming, public option, gun control and foreign policy. I would like to also add to the mix evolution, angels, multiculturalism and meth.

An example of this popped up today in the Houston Chronicle. Down here in Dumbutt Governor Rick Perry has denied our educational system most of a billion dollars because he does not want Texas education federalized. Schools want Perry to seek grant money

On the surface this is mostly about nationalized testing which would put Texas education at the 50th worst state rather than hover somewhere in the 40s. But digging a bit deeper we find it has its roots in the lie of of evolution, the hoax of climate change, forcing our kids to pray no matter what the constitution has to say about it, and that non whites have no business being in Texas history books.

The only other state to deny their children this big chunk of federal education money is of course Alaska. The bigger they are the harder they fail.

Yea, we Texans passed the Castle Law and several other local laws you didn't bother to mention. We're armed and there's not a god dam thing you can do about it. So, eat it you cat kissing liberal. How does it feel when your bitch shit gets shoved right back in your face?

There are many things wrong with Republicans, but this joyous thirst to kill someone is perhaps their defining trait. Oh and dancing out front of the Ellis Unit after an execution. And slapping their kids around or needing a rottweiler to feel good about themselves. And of course wearing a cowboy hat that falls well over their ears.

They say as we grow older we become more conservative. The opposite has happened to me. And I think it has to do with concluding that violence is central bane of humanity. And promoting it in any way is wrong, and I will have no part in it. And the NRA telling our children they cannot be a man unless they carry a big loaded gun around is scumbaggery.
