Fox News rogue Shep Smith decries torture

“I find it sad and horrifying that we are still debating torture… Ronald Reagan said we are a shinning city on the hill, we’re America we don’t toture.” Fox News Shep Smith.

Fox News rogue Shep Smith on tortureTake notice of the FOX NEWS FACTS scroll running below their rogue Shep Smith. Fox News finds itself in somewhat of a bind now and again with old Shep. They can’t fire him because he is the only bit of fair, balanced and credibility they have. And hey, I just used the “shining city on the Hill” quote yesterday in this context. Fox News is copying me.

I found one of the most interesting things in all this was that CIA employees were given the option to bow out of torturing other human beings on moral grounds. But they found more than enough. It’s like if the State of Texas asking for volunteer executioners to move to Huntsville to inject the poison a few times a month. My guess is the database of volunteers would be the same database the TEXAS GOP uses to get out their vote. It is the nature of the Beast.

Well I covered Republicans for torture and executions. I left out the hitting children with boards in school and hitting them with sticks and belts at home. Oh and the guns. Almost forgot about the guns. And what they are for.

But hey, they make up for their violence natures by kicking African Americans in the nuts over the past month or so and smacking Hispanics in the ass for the past few weeks.  It’s the nature of the Beast. Indeed, character matters.

The right-wing came out from under their rocks boldly and loudly in five easy steps.

In 1964 with Barry Goldwaters “Conscience of a Conservative” with the theme that it is good to be a violent selfish a whole.

On January 20th, 1980, Ronald Reagan with the help of Jerry Falwell successfully put nice hair, simple quips and Jesus as the basis of their the right-wing swill.

In 1988 congress did away with the “Fairness Doctrine” which gave AM radio over to the worst of it and brought us Fox News.

In 1994 came the Gingrich Revolution and the subsequent impeachment which realigned the power structure of Congress to the Republicans.

And perhaps most importantly, the election of an African American into the White House that brought all the ugliness of the Tea Party to bear on an ever widening racial divide.

There is big money in making a wholes feel good about themselves.
