We often hear the words ‘net neutrality’, but it sounds so complicated that we ignore the issue, and risk losing net neutrality – which is a very big deal, through our own inaction.
A group of companies and websites came together this week for “Internet Slowdown Day” to symbolically show people what the internet would be like if new net neutrality rules get passed…And it’s terrifying. We won’t recognize the place anymore! Technically they are laws which would eliminate the net neutrality we now enjoy . If laws are passed in favor of big telecom giants like Comcast and Time Warner, our daily spin around the internet will become an expensive and frustrating crawl with only few places we’re still allowed to visit without paying extra for the privilege.. Net Neutrality is a bit hard to follow, but I believe Jimmy’s demonstration will make it unforgettably clear.
