Funny Lewis Black : Cheney, CNN,Guns & Mitch McConnell, on Seth Meyers

Funny Lewis Black Rant! CNN,Guns, Cheney & Mitch McConnell. Late Night with Seth Meyers

Elect Lewis Black in 2016,  We Want Tahiti!

Seth Meyers asked, and Lewis Black’s hilarious opinions gushed forth. From creepy political dinners of his own, and the politicians who made them that way like Dick Cheney and Mitch McConnell to CNN’s exhaustive coverage…Of everything.
Black is in rare form talking about our dual gun culture and immigration.  Do you ever get the feeling that only the comedians are making  sense?

To hit a few highlights. with the recent Washington Correspondent’s Dinner on everyone’s mind, Lewis Black harkens back to another Washington dinner he hosted, filled with ‘schmucks.’ Preparing for Dubya’s reaction to his material, he never dreamed he’d have such a friend in Dick Cheney.  “He seemed to love me, which just freaked me out.”
To that I would say – watch out Lewis. I’m certain he seemed to like the guy he shot in the face, too. Mitch McConnell is  described by Black with one word that rhymes with ‘sick.’ Much more hilarity ensued at this gathering, as only Black can tell it.
In all seriousness, Seth asked Lewis Black what we can expect from Washington D.C.. As if in possession of a Magic 8 Ball, Black answers, “I think the excitement for us is to see what we’re not going to do next.”
Congress recently stated as much, saying they would block everything crossing their desks with the exception of Benghazi related material.

Why on earth would Lewis Black admit to watching CNN even more now that they feature missing plane coverage almost constantly? His reason may be unique, but certainly valid for him.
Here is a biggie – Gun Culture. Just as people were divided into “Against Nam” and Pro-War in the late 60’s to early 70’s, we are a nation divided today by guns. “If yer not for ’em, yer again’ me,” seems to be the general feeling, straight out of an old Western.  Black relates how his Jewish upbringing – wih no guns, influenced his view today.
His parent’s were Jewish. He says,  “They didn’t own guns and didn’t hunt for game. They hunted for buffets.”

Immigration – the State Department would do well to take Black’s advice under consideration. No spoiler this time, but I will say his solution doesn’t involve walls or denying anyone citizenship. It’s all in the  advertizing baby!
