Keith plumbs the murky depths of the enormous difference between the official nose count at the 9/12 tea party march on Washington D.C.and the count of the right wing organizers. Bright and early on 9/13, right wing pundits quoted two million marchers! Oddly, Glenn Beck wasn’t there with his people to count noses, or high five, perhaps he doesn’t mingle? Counting is generally left to the D.C. Fire Dept. Public Affairs Officer who closely estimated the marchers at between 50 and 75,000. Beck wasn’t too far off, just 24 times greater than the official count! Glenn Beck has proof! When asked, you too will enjoy his answer, but as you’ll see there is reason to fear for his memory!
His justification for two million goes a little something like this; “We had a university, I think it’s a university , of – I don’t remember which university it is. Look at the pictures and you know they can do body space, looked at it, did the body counts and came up with 1.7 million.” Astounding! We must locate the mystery university…of something, somewhere. Of course he wasn’t the only one to exaggerate a million or more. Michelle Malkin quoted two on ABC, because she says
so – that’s why. Limbaugh quoted a British tabloid as a source for his two million, sadly for him they didn’t print it! Lou Dobbs assured radio listeners it was over a million, and Matt Kibbe organizer of Freedom works recanted!
Keith is joined by Chris Hayes of The Nation to discuss some of the darker aspects of what at first glance seems to be the graduating class of clown college. As has worked so many times before, and especially now with an undercurrent no one dares speak of, perhaps repetition is all they need to convince people that indeed the lies are true, and that great numbers of
Americans feel the very same way. Perhaps that is the one lesson we should truly take away from this.
