GOP African American Outreach with Rand Paul, Tony Auth cartoon

Picking Rand Paul, who recently proved what a sniveling little snot he is, to lead the GOP African American Outreach program shows just how disengaged the GOP is. Not only from the everyday life of the average America trying to meet their bills each month, but so profoundly clueless concerning African Americans in every which way.

Rand Paul has been there before and struck out. From Reverend Al Sharpton:

Strike one: On Rachel Maddow Rand Paul said he would not have voted for the Civil Rights Act of 1965 because it included accommodation laws for businesses. No Negroes allowed in restaurants, hotels, gas station rest rooms or even allowed to enter retail stores. If that is not support of racism then nothing is. Which btw is exactly how Republicans see it, racism does not exist in their world, much like global warming and evolution.

Strike two: Rand Paul made a speech to the NAACP and did such a good job of talking down to them the response was mostly groans of disbelief.  Specifically assuming leaders of the civil rights movement were unaware that before the “southern strategy” response to the Voting Rights act and the Civil Rights Act that it was Republicans who were on their side.

Strike three and you are out:  Rand Paul is a Tea Party leader who backs the Voter suppression laws taking place in most every state with a Republican governor and legislature.
