GOP election and convention built on one big lie, WE BUILT THISon August 23, 2012 at 7:13 am
First we must explain the big lie in all this.
“Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business, you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen.” President Barrack Obama
There is a grammatical gaffe in that line. The phrase “you didn’t build that” should have been after “Somebody invested in roads and bridges” It is more than obvious that is what the President meant to everyone - including Republican Party who have made this grammatical error the centerpiece of their Presidential campaign.
They have doubled down on this lie for the convention. Calling it the “WE BUILT THIS” convention. That too is a lie. But no grammatical gaff to pretend otherwise. It is a pure lie as 62% of the Tampa Bay Times Forum Arena was funded by the government.
A political party, a political convention now with their centerpiece two lies that everyone knows are lies and… IT DOESN’T MATTER. That’s the key of how Republicans win. Hypocrisy and lies is the only way they can win. Sure racism, bigotry, misogyny, homophobia and religious intolerance are all big winners for Republicans, but they cannot win national elections on those proudly expressed ideals alone. They need to fool those who are not paying attention.
HEY, IT IS TIME FOR EVERYONE TO START PAYING ATTENTION!
These days it’s all about jobs and debt the GOP tell us. We need to go back to trickle down economics and deregulation. We tried that for 8 years under Ronald Reagan, the debt TRIPLED. We tried it again under W. Bush for 8 years, the debt more than DOUBLED. W Bush and 8 years of trickle down economics also had the worst job creation record since the Depression. PAY ATTENTION!
