Guns & Ammo, Dick Metcalf fired, Jim Bequette resigns

What did Dick Medcalf (.44 magnum with scope) say in the December issue of Gun & Ammo magazine that got him fired?

“Way too many gun owners still believe that any regulation of the right to keep and bear arms is an infringement. The fact is that all Constitutional rights are regulated, always have been, and need to be.”

OMG! And boy did the responses come fast and furious, but so far no one has been shot.

And what did Guns & Ammo magazine editor-in-chief  Jim Bequette (bear killer) say that forced him to resign immediately?

“I made a mistake by publishing the column. I thought it would generate a healthy exchange of ideas on gun rights. I miscalculated, pure and simple. I was wrong, and I ask your forgiveness.
Plans were already in place for a new editor to take the reins of “Guns & Ammo” on January 1. However, these recent events have convinced me that I should advance that schedule immediately.”

OMFG! But it’s not so bad as neither Jim Bequette nor Dick Medcalf have been shot, yet. But boy oh boy are there a lot of angry gun enthusiasts out there.  About the same amount of angry gun enthusiasts as there were before this happened. It’s their nature to be angry. And nothing we all like better than an angry man with a gun.

A couple points to be aware of. Only 40% of Americans own guns, and only 6% of Americans hunt. Though both surprising numbers to me, I find it some distressing math there. What are the guns for to the remaining 34% of gun enthusiasts? Who are arming up to shoot?
