Happy Birthday MLK from Ward Connerly

“A society that has done something special against the Negro for hundreds of years must now do something special for the Negro.”

"Whenever this issue of compensatory or preferential treatment for the Negro is raised, some of our friends recoil in horror. The Negro should be granted equality, they agree, but he should ask for nothing more. On the surface, this appears reasonable, but it is not realistic. For it is obvious that if a man enters the starting line of a race three hundred years after another man, the first would have to perform some incredible feat in order to catch up." The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The above quotes never happened in the minds of Rush Limbaugh, Ward Connerly, David Duke and the vast majority of the Republican Party. Not only do such people ignor Dr. Kings’ words but have corrupted, or should we say conservatively corrected, them to define Affirmative action as reverse discrimination, quotas, and preferential treatment.

Uncle Tom Foolery

On Reverend Martin Luther Kings’ birthday I find articles that Affirmative Action foe Ward Connerly is taking his campaign pretending racism no longer exists to referendums in Colorado, Missouri, Arizona, Nebraska, and Oklahoma for the 2008 election. Sadly he succeeded in this his last time round with Michigan and California will reeling from the legal mess it made.

Riding the tidal wave of todays’ misplaced racism and bigotry directed at Mexicans as the cause of our economic woes, Connerly sees a winning road ahead to include African Americans and Women as the enemies of getting into college and employment. No Negro ever sang a prettier song to the ears of the Republican Party, for which he is funded and paid well.

Though the African American community hates Ward Connerly more than any other black man in America, in fact he has to have round the clock security, his message is well received by enough Americans to get the referendums on ballots and to win on occasion. The winning comes by deceptive definitions, America’s racist history and nature and uncle tom foolery.
