Heartless Republicans stand between forgotten unemployed and Hope

Republicans are the original promise-keepers. They came in with the promise that they wouldn’t cooperate with President Obama’s Administration on anything, and in this instance they are people of their word. Lacking solutions, they are hell-bent on repealing progress made by the Obama Administration such as health care, and blindly giving a thumbs-down to such ideas as high-speed rail which could help the country in incalculable ways.

Meanwhile – in a place that Republicans never see, the 99ers are the forgotten people. They don’t even ‘count’ in statistics of the unemployed, as they receive no benefits. To skew the Creedence Clearwater lyrics, "It ain’t me, I ain’t the unfortunate one," is the mantra of the Republicans if – and when they think of these people at all.

Proposed legislation by Democratic Congresswoman Barbara Lee and Congressman Bobby Scott will give these Americans the hope, work and dignity they deserve, if only the inhumane Republicans will let it reach the House floor.
