I Believe in Bernie: A Sixtie's Style Tribute to Bernie Sanders

PsychoSuperMom says that Bernie Sanders’ progressive, populist appeal makes her feel like a ’60s protest singer. Well, eat your heart out Bob Dylan, this lady has a message and a kazoo –  too!  Once more, there are big changes blowin’ in the wind, and while most of the wind until 2016 will be nothing but hot air, there is a man who earnestly wants to improve the lot of all Americans.  If you think you’ve heard that old song before, believe me Sanders is singing a different tune.

Bernie Sanders is the polar opposite of Mitt Romney – in every way.
The 73 year-old, curmudgeonly, Independent hippie Senator from Vermont is a man of the people and for the people – all of them…Black, white, gay, straight, men, women, children, the elderly, healthy, sick, weird and wired…But millionaires and billionaires – not so much. They take a dim view of Sanders, who feels that they should pay their fair share.  Sanders points out that the deficit should once again be cured by taxing those wealthy rascals fairly, and weaning them off of corporate welfare too.

Bernie Sander’s ‘Agenda For America’ the 12 Steps Forward.

1. Rebuild crumbling infrastructure
2. Reverse climate change
3. Worker Co-ops
4. Grow trade unions
5. Raise minimum wage
6. Pay equity for women
7. Trade policies that benefit US workers
8. Make college affordable for all
9. Take on Wall Street
10.Health care is a right for all
11. Protect most vulnerable Americans
12. Real Tax reform

“I am going to do my best to try to create a country in which children are not living in poverty, in which kids can go to college, in which old people have health care. Will I succeed? I can’t guarantee you that, but I can tell you from a human point of view it is better to show up than to give up.”

With Hillary’s experience and Bernie’s ideas, they would make a terrific team. Dare we hope?
